Well I was talking about using it against the committee, but now that you mention it, yeah. Screw the Big Texas.
KSU and TCU (assuming they win) would be deemed co-champions so the committee would treat them as such.
We don't know anything at all about the committee because they aren't transparent

That is logicql but Tbe Experts on ESPNU put Wisconsin in if they win qnd all other favorites are beaten. I think the fact that GT and Mizzou were the only teams not mentioned in any scenario of upsets tells us we arent on the radar. The assumption is the bias of the committee would be similar to "The Experts" and they are clearly unencumbered by logic in their decisions. The fact that we're currently two spots ahead of Wisconsin bodes well for us. I can't see a Wisconsin team who's currently looked at with less esteem than 3-loss Ole Miss jumping us and Kansas State with a win over an Ohio State team playing with its preseason 3rd string QB.
The fact that FSU has dropped to 4th by the committee is all we need to know. If we beat them, we will not be going to the playoff.
Are you suggesting that FSU dropped to 4th in a direct effort to keep us out? That's a little paranoid.
No that is not what I am saying. I am saying that they view the ACC as weak relative to the other conferences, and if an 11 beats a 4, they will not magically become a 4.
I still struggle to see how people could possibly view the Big 10 as better than the ACC.
I still struggle to see how people could possibly view the Big 10 as better than the ACC. What do we know...
- VT (4-4) beat OSU (8-0) by 14 on the road by 14.
- Miami (3-5) lost to Nebraska (5-3) on the road by 10.
- Syracuse (1-7) lost to Maryland (4-4) at home by 14.
- Maryland went 4-4 in the Big 10 after going 6-18 the last 3 years in the ACC.
- ACC has 4 ranked teams, the Big 10 has 3.
Hopefully we continue last year's BCS momentum and start changing this dumb perception.
So the ACC went 1-2 against the b1g with the only win against a team that had just lost their starting QB a week before? Yes, we are clearly better.
Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet but Todd Mcshay(sp) just made a really good point on ESPN......he stated that FSU moved down to #4 and moved TCU up to #3 to make it harder for Baylor to jump them in the final rankings and be able to logically void the head to head argument. He mentioned that the rankings for the other three teams really don't matter because the win and you're in, lose and you're out philosophy applies to each of them.
Also, their conference champion that has been undefeated for 3 straight years got their ass beat by a team that is barely bowl eligible in the ACC.
Will be interesting to see what they do if Bama wins, Oregon wins, and TCU wins. Then FSU and Ohio State lose and Baylor wins. Could Baylor get the #4 spot? Would be a joke to have 2 Big 12 teams in a playoff when they don't have a championship game. Or would they give it to Wisconsin? We would be as deserving as Wisconsin for the #4 spot in that scenario. What a joke this committee is.
conference champion? not yet
