Chadwell and his spread option

If you're not in the top 15 in recruiting, it doesn't really matter.

There is a huge discrepancy outside of the top 15 with respect to on field results.

Outside the top 15 classes, it boils down to talent evaluation and player development. This is key for anyone hired at Tech to consistently win. I don't care if you bring Saban here, this will always be the case unless monumental changes are made within the AA.

TRUTH here. Recruiting fanboys do not like this truth. In fact, they believe it is a myth or a falsehood that GT could overcome if some of us were not so "negative". (of course, those of us who understand this truth would call it a stark and ever present reality)

I would add to your comment about talent evaluation and player development, the following 2 points:

  • Need a superior offensive play caller who can adjust during the game if necessary (why I support Chadwell)
  • In regards to the football program as a whole, we need to continue to figure out innovative ways to create new fans (marketing - It is not that I disagreed with C****** about this, but without coaching acumen, it won't matter)

How does a coach recruit a 6'-3" 235 lb. line backer who runs a 4.6 forty, differently than a 6'-1" 215 lb. line backer who runs a 4.7 forty !?
What does a GT coach say differently to a 4* player that your competition is say Auburn, than a coach at Coastal says to a 2* player that your competition is Ga State!?
Yeah, maybe the coach can emphasize the NFL or NIL more to one kid than another, but geesh, sometimes fans can over think things. For the most part, the fish bite the same bait in the big or small pond.

The kids he is recruiting to CC know that they are unlikely to play beyond college. Playing in an offense that doesn’t look like an NFL offense doesn’t mean as much. And the recruiting area for CC is much smaller than the recruiting area for GT.

Yeah, that's obvious, but how does a coach recruit the kids differently, or are the fundamentals the same? Kids and parents are subject to great salesmanship like anybody else. As for the 2* kids, they were also hs heroes who were likely the best or second best player on the team, and they have egos and dreams. It's kinda like teaching a kid to be taller, faster, or tackle instinctively.....you can't. As for salesmanship, a coach has it or he doesn't. I bet Kirby could sell pretty good while he was at Valdosta State.
Btw, this is not a campaign on my part for Chadwell, I just don't assume he can't recruit.
