Chop or not a chop... there is no question

the FJ missed the clear DPI against VT (fortunately, the BJ bailed him out)
I was furious about this and no one around me could figure out why I was mad since a flag was thrown. The FJ was staring directly at the WR getting tackled but didn't throw his flag. Whether or not the BJ threw the flag, that guy's got some 'splaining to do.

The back judge blew a much bigger call during the game and I will be damned if I can remember what it was. What were we all booing?

"Intentional" essentially means "non-incidental" in application of the rules. If you're moving under your own control, it is considered intentional. Yes, our LT was trying to block the LB, but he initiated contact on a player who was engaged in a block. This wasn't someone getting table topped in the slop. It was the correct call.

Why are we so insecure about this topic to generate four pages of discussion? We hit the defender high and low, thus a penalty was called. End of story. We aren't the only team who gets this flag. It happens.
What else are we gonna talk about? Duke?

The push off on VT's last 4th down conversion? That was on the SJ's side, but the BJ could've called it too.

We also had a PI called on us after VT's long KO return(near the north end zone), but I couldn't tell if it was a good call or not from where I was sitting.

Wasn't that the PI call in the north endzone that ended up with VT scoring on a scramble run? I seem to recall joining in some boos on that. Though, I'd have to watch the tape, etc.

This is what I was thinking of.

I think it was the PI in the north endzone. It was on the north side of the field, Now I gotta watch the game and see. We booed loudly all the way to halftime

Found it. Lance Austin called for P.I. with 4:00 left in the 2nd quarter. Looked like good defense to me, but I am watching the condensed game with no replay of it

62 did not initiate contact. Look again who hit who.

I just want to argue and am not upset at the call. This was not a chop block though.

HOLY SHIT! The PI on Austin is shown in real time and then the playback jumps to after the TD. What a bunch of shit! No replay or nothing. Obviously a blown call that has been selectively edited out.

And on the kickoff return, 93 gets blocked in the back trying to make the tackle. 2 blown calls in a row

Easy there cowboy, here's the replay:

It looks like pretty good coverage. You could make the argument Austin has his arm around the receiver - but it's pretty ticky-tack.

Terrible call. Of course, if the block in the back were called on the kickoff, it wouldn't have happened

Johnson says it was a chop block, "good call":

I still agree with Longestdays but I don't think the refs or CPJ care about the intentionality nuance
