Chris Hatcher

Correct me if I'm wrong but I beleive they have 3 losses, 2 in OT and one the kicker missed a FG at the end. If it weren't for his complete turn around of GSU I wouldn't be as high on the guy, but he seems to be doing something right wherever he goes.

We can take a chance some old washed up assistant who has never been in charge of his own program or we can take a chance on some young, energetic coach that will most likely be out of our reach within another 5 years or so

Youre exactly right. All of our losses have been close ones. We werent "blown out" once.

There were 18-20 kids on academic watch at Georgia Southern??????

I guess when we're 49/48 out of 50 it shouldn't surprise me.

Well....we arent exactly the academic capital of the world but wow :eek5:

That's reality, though. The big bonus for getting Chan was supposed to be that he might end up a lifer, having already pretty much done everything at every level, but then last year came around and dispelled that.

Long term retention does not need to be a deciding factor on who we hire. That's just how modern football is.
I agree. i was replying to gatorbuzz who said, "He'd be 80 miles from his family (and his wife's) - we'd never lose this guy. Family is a big deal to Chris."

Of course we would lose him if he is really good.

Perhaps if you knew Chris you might think differently.

Hell, look at Rich Rodriguez at WVU...Alabama came knocking w/ a big fat check and he delined. Its possible we could get a coach that builds something and decides to stick around. I think he may regret that decision once he's lost White and Slaton.

From Footballscoop.com:

Kentucky: Sources are saying that Brooks may indeed retire after the presumed bowl game and they attempt to finally make a big run at the likes of Mike Leach, Chris Hatcher, or one of these 3 innovative coaches in Sean Payton, Lane Kiffin, or Scott Linehan
