This has already started. We are in the midst of the slow bleed right now and have been. But we still have a lot of posters who can’t see it and believe the almighty GOR will save us. If it wasn’t for Dabo the ACC would clearly be the worst P5 football conference. But it appears Dabo’s run is over and the ACC has no one who can sniff the top 10 let alone top 5. Has anyone else noticed how the SEC has dominated football for decades. Now, they have taken over college baseball and are basically at the same level as the ACC now in hoops. And with K and Roy now retired those 2 programs will fall over the next 5 years as the 5 stars start going to the SEC due to NIL and more overall money. The ACC is dying. But if anyone wants to hang their hat on women's sports or golf then good luck with that.

Trade school should have teams. Now that guys can transfer as much as they want they could pass through one of those and get an actual marketable skill.

Is bolting an athletic department onto a trade school any more incongruous than the amount of importance placed on those attached to colleges.

Sheet metal work, auto mechanics, etc., may be more closely related to athletics than business or playground design or psychology.

Yeah, they are ranked 122. They are a red neck school. When you are middle of the pack academically in the SEC, you probably aren’t going to endear yourself to the B1G.
 
Whether I agree with this guy, is a moot point. I already stated that the ACC doesn't think big enough, to be able to survive. The ACC's "big" programs will be approached by conferences, that can promise more money and better bowls. I cannot blame any school, for wanting "bigger and better". So, I think the ACC's days are numbered. Or.....at least the ACC, as we know it now. The ACC will only survive by replacing programs like Clemson, UNC, GT, FSU, Miami and such with schools like Middle Tennessee, Georgia State, Georgia Southern and such... So, I think schools will see or are seeing the writing on the wall.

Redneck <> academic rankings

GT is more of a redneck school than BC.

Redneck schools has more to do with hunting, fishing, and hayseed subculture.

hunting, fishing,christianity,strong academics and disciplined teams are good subcultures that we could be proud of.

Well, maybe if the Indian Packing Company sponsored a young team instead of an older one back in the 20's there may be a few today.

Big time athletics is advertising for schools, corps in general would go for that if the "tradition" wasn't already established.

Wisconsin is a better academic school than Missouri. GT is a better academic school than BC.

I know a lot of rednecks who have never sprayed themselves with deer piss. Maybe instead of calling them rednecks they would be more correctly called white trash.

I disagree. Rednecks usually have goals, even if the goal is to own the biggest 4x4. White trash just wants to get something for nothing. You can find a lot of white trash around downtown in housing projects.
 
Isn't it ironic that the main thing blocking the survival of the ACC is the ACC GOR itself?

I’ll go further than that. Rednecks have a country or southern affiliation where as white trash are just ööööty whites people
