Heck, I'd rather hang out with their fanbase than ours.

I mean, they have a lot of redneck/good ol' boy fans, but somehow not the scary kind like you get at U[sic]GA. Some random Clemson dudes helped me push my car when it got stuck in the YMCA lot after a game up there a few years ago.

I'm sure if you looked hard enough, you could find some hostility in the Clemson fanbase, but the vast majority that I've ever encountered seem completely fine.

I think his greatest attribute is that the focus ( good or bad) is always on him (by his design). He's probably not a great X and O guy but he surrounds himself with guys that are and lets them do their jobs. Dudes love playing for him and it shows

Clemson has a pretty unique "college town" environment. Year round, the town pretty much revolves around the school. Apparently that is something that appeals to college athletes.

That is a fair statement, and it certainly isn't for everyone. Some people love GT and the city life. Some don't. For me as a 17 year old, the prospect of moving to the middle of Atlanta where I didn't know anyone was not appealing and is 90% of the reason I ended up at Clemson. IIWII.
