Playing in Washington State probably will do that to a kid. I wonder if he would have even started for a top Georgia high school team?
Probably would have. He has great physical abilities but hasn't had the coaching to make them effective, and hasn't been toughened up. Growing up in a better league or playing for a decent QB developing coach (e.g. Richt) really would have helped.
As it stands, he'll probably lose his starting job next season then transfer out, use a red shirt, then come back as an outstanding player for a school like Ohio State or Miami. But he could have been a Heisman contender if he went somewhere other than uGA to start.
