Committable 2019 offers?

No program in the country lands all of their targets. We appear to be the front-runner for the Gatorade GA Player of the Year (Griffin) and we are/will be in the conversation for plenty of very talented players in 2020. Unless we're regularly missing on these guys, it seems foolish to question the recruiting abilities of the new staff.

I realize that a lot of the negative nancys right now are just people still butthurt that we're moving away from the option.

Geoff Collins is the man! GT will have it's 2nd top 25 recruiting class in 2020.
We are in total agreement on this point. Been a while since we've seen eye-to-eye on things. It appears that CGC is not only going to bring in the necessary personnel to play big boy football but he is uniting previously disparate factions of the fan base. This is a good thing. And a nice distraction from our other so-called revenue sport.

Cheers, mate. :drink2:

Same poster. Same attitude.
I think Collins and staff will recruit better. Collins seems to get branding and marketing GT better than Johnson. Johnson was sort of defeatist about recruiting at Tech. However, remains to be seen how much better Collins will recruit.

We are sitting in arguably one of the hottest recruiting hot spots in the nation. We are arguably a destination spot for many pro athletes and celebrities. Getting them in, keeping them eligible, and coaching them will be the true test. I always felt a certain segment of the institution has held us back.

If CGC pulls Griffin and Lockhart, along with Ezzard, that would probably meet or exceed the top 3 of any of CPJs classes.

Nice, so literally every prediction for Griffin that's not VIP-locked or from last spring has him coming to Tech.
FWIW, all those VIP locked picks are for GT. The only one that isn't is Rusty Mansell's from last April.

That class was ranked #43. If we get who we hope we do it will be interesting to see where we end up.

We are # 51 now, I think. Not sure where Griffin and Lockhart will put us, but this class is going to be skewed by having at least 3 transfers that won't count, so I'm not too worried about our ranking this year.

I agree. Just responding to another post.

Deandre Smelter is also on that list of 2010 recruits as a verbal commit. We know he ended up turning down the football offer and playing baseball for 3 years before joining the football team, so I don't think you can actually count that towards that years class and it would be even lower.

So you're saying that in 2 months GCG will help push this class above all but one of CPJs?

Jake Skole too.

In terms of rankings, possibly. I'd beg to differ on some of those class rankings though. Hindsight is always 20/20. Another note, Ezzard won't count towards this year's class ranking either.
