Contract extension for Geoff

Gibbs is a quitter. Hard to blame Geoff for that. And we don’t have anyone on the team named Simms, so I’m not 100% sure who you’re talking about
Oh, yeah. Sorry. I always get Jeff Sims mixed up with Myles Simms.

Do you seriously think Collins upended the staff of his own accord??? He knew he had to immediately or he would have been canned immediately.
What is his incentive to make changes that are forced on him? He’s getting paid the same either way. And if he refused a directive to fire Coach Pat then at least he saves that friendship while collecting his buyout.

But instead, he did a top down examination of every facet of the program and identified areas of improvement. He’s driven by his own desire to succeed. The money is his regardless.

When do you all think we need to worry about Geoff not getting a contract extension yet? Recruiting will really start to suffer if he just keeps cruising on his initial deal. I really think this is the year everything g comes together and we get over the hump of the past few seasons.

What we absolutely can not happen is Geoff to win 6 or 7 this year and then be a hot commodity and take a job at some SEC school (Auburn?). Need to lock him up for At least a few more years and make sure there is an ironclad buyout.

Yes, let's re-up the Used Car Salesman with a perpetual never-ending contract. This is the (Tech) way.

This post will not age well.

I think it's evident that Geoff has really matured in the way he handles getting info to the media and fanbase. Bodes well for our future.

If we would have had the 2022 version of CGC in 2019/20/21 we would be 27-9 instead of 9-27.

CGC is about to open a can of whoopass on the ACC and a few OOC teams.

Because if he had not done what he had been told to do, he would have fired on the spot. I'd call that a pretty good incentive.

I agree. Need to lock him in early. But Thacker is really the one we need to worry about. I hear UGA and Bama are after him.

What people don't know is ........................

Collins formula for the comeback to relevance will feature "the dadgum" wishbone!!!!!!! Enough playing around with wide open offenses.

this thread is fail. You don't have to reup coaches anymore for recruiting. Cruiting don't matter anymore. Just work the portal babee. Hand out those NILs.

It’s not a top down examination. It’s a deep dive into every facet of the program. If you’re going to jump on the fanboy bus, at least get your terms right. And be careful, it’s a short bus.

best time to get on the bandwagon is before it's too crowded. I'll save you a seat.

Yep - If VT fans were as impatient and unrealistic as GT fans, Frank Beamer would have been canned after his third year and they never would have won the NC whatever year that was (I forget). Perhaps we can learn from them.
Maybe their trophy case wouldn't still be empty if they had upgraded?
