Contract extension for Geoff

This might be a troll thread, but the reality is extension talks started earlier this month, an agreement was reached this past weekend, and the big money donors want to get the news out there before the season starts. Extension likely to be announced Thursday.
 
I seriously doubt his contract is much of a factor. Any recruit talking to us knows our HC is on life support.

What we absolutely can not happen is Geoff to win 6 or 7 this year and then be a hot commodity and take a job at some SEC school (Auburn?). Need to lock him up for At least a few more years and make sure there is an ironclad buyout.

There is a reason you can't remember the year. It never happened. VT has never won a team National Championship in any sport. They came close in 1999/2000 but lost to FSU in the Sugar Bowl. So now what?

I was rather surprised how quickly the responses started rolling in. I initially thought the OP was a poor attempt. I stand corrected and educated. Disecq wins StingTalk for the week.

One nice thing is we can speed things up pulling the Hewitt auto-updating contract and changing a few terms around for Collins. We already have the blueprint.
