CPJ HOF Recognition 10/28

1. Loved the crowd reaction when PJ got intro'd during the first timeout. It was a little weird doing it while a Tech player was getting medical attention, but I guess they were committed to the first timeout, so ... But from our vantage point, it was a standing O all around for PJ.

CPJ was seen making the rounds & talking his former players at The Letterwinners Tailgate pregame.....

As for the reaction during his HoF intro, it was the first time this OldefarTekker has ever seen the officating crew, led by the Referee, applauding anything. And they did it as long as the crowd did. Says a lot for the respect the CFB industry has for CPJ.

I saw this mentioned on another board but I went back and looked at the game again and it looks like we lined up in CPJ's formation albeit with the QB in the gun on the first play. Not sure if it was meant as a nod to CPJ, if it is, I love the nod. Definitely in contrast to what the clown did in his first spring game.

Yep, watching in person and then in the replay, I was struck that that formation a) looked like a CPJ set, and b) wasn’t something I remembered seeing us run before.

Have you noticed how HK looked like a regular CPJ qb on some of the option plays? How much you wanna bet we consulted CPJ for a few wrinkles?

It seems far-fetched to me that CPJ would get involved or that the current staff would want him to, especially when he’s just in town to shake some hands and accept an award. I’m also skeptical that we’d have time to implement anything he said, even if he did chime in.

That said, King pulling that ball from Dontae and taking it 50 yards was a thing of beauty, whether it was a called play or a late option read or just freelancing. Everybody in the world (crowd, announcers, cameraman, UNC defense) thought that was going to Smith. Perfect play at the perfect time.

What I have noticed is how much of a leader King is compared to last year #10 and Clown Collins favorite recruit. So glad we landed him and kept Pyron. I really think Buster faulkner is a huge upgrade over Chip Long and Patnut
