David Cutcliffe - Really?

and, in fact, Smelter is not Demaryius Thomas. He is Helter Smelter.

Let him Burn Down Dook all on his own, without any help from DT

would be pretty awesome if the band learned helter skelter for when he has a big play.

you guys need to realize that he is trying to get under our skin and try to get us to burn him with the pass; knowing full well that if we just run the ball all over their faces they will have no answer for that

we need to play the game we need to play, and not the game of trying to prove him wrong

Until we get a three TD lead. Then we beat them with the pass as well.

And, honestly he isn't as good as him. Yet.

You mean 2009 Demaryius? Or 2014 Demaryius?

Because through 4 games, Smelter is (statistically) almost identical to 2009 Demaryius, and actually slightly better.

He also talked about how no wide receivers would come to GT to play in the offense.

Cutcliffe wanted the GT job. Duke wanted Paul Johnson as its head coach. They actually outbid us for him.

And Cutcliffe is 0-6 against Paul Johnson since that time.

But, as to WR's drafted in the first and second rounds under their respective tenures:

Georgia Tech: 2
Duke: 0

And before Cutcliffe talks about cut blocks, he should recall that after Carolina took some amazingly dirty hits two years ago against Dook, he called an retailatory chop block which caused a kid to windmill and have a knee injury in that same game.

Again, guys. This is Cutcliffe. The same guy CPJ has beaten 6 times in a row by an average of 20.8 ppg. I'd be butthurt too if I were him. I'd find reasons to belittle Tech and avoid questions about game strategy too if I were him. He's got nothing. He's about to get pounded again, and he knows it. He's had two weeks to watch film and is fully aware that CPJ is going to piledrive his defense for the 7th straight year. Wouldn't you be pissed off too?

In 4 days...
- Tech will be 6-0 (3-0) and ranked in the Top 20
- Duke will be 4-2 (0-2)
- Tech will start looking at hotels in the Charlotte area
- Duke's run last season will be chalked up as a fluke
- Tech will get coverage as one of a handful unbeatens left
- Duke will be forgotten

Don't stress over it too much.

Just looked out of curiosity - (at least with Marriott hotels) downtown Charlotte near the stadium is booked out on that Saturday night. Must be full of F$U fans.

Any way you slice it its dick as hell (and unprofessional) to single out a player on the other team and say that he's not as good as someone who used to play for that team.

That's like if CPJ said "Duke Johnson is no Clinton Portis" or "that QB from VT sure isn't as good as the one they had last year."

There's no need for it.

He didn't just randomly single out anyone, questions led there. Media was telling Cutcliffe we still have good receivers, so he said not as good as Calvin or Bay Bay. Which is correct so far, but we will see...

Watching Bay Bay '09 and watching Smelter '14, Bay Bay '09 is better, but season is not over yet!

Just like how LeBron James is on record saying he'd have gone to OSU if he had one year of college.

It's really easy to say nice things about organizations and people you like when there's no actual commitment involved. I'll believe him more when we get another receiver close to his or Demaryius's level.

so basically you'll never believe him.. there might not ever be another megatron, period... much less that goes to Tech.. that's like saying UGA can't get a RB until they get one like Herschel..

Gurley is a beast, for example. of of the top 5 RBs in the country NO DOUBT

from what I read they get 1 or 2 of those each year

If you have to rank RBs over there, this Gurley kid is probably the best since Hershel.

I sure hope they lose some games so he fades from the Heisman watch.

Honestly, what did Cutcliffe really say that half the guys on this board don't already say?
