David Cutcliffe - Really?

Someone brought up 5IAR to him at the end of the press conference. I thought he handled it very professionally.

In the AJC chat today, Ken said Cutcliffe backed off his comments already.

Excellent post. Reality is reality.

To piggyback:

1. For GT, we are way better off with a scheme that can win with three stars than a scheme that can attract but also requires 4 star talent.

This......is one of THE most astute observations made.

IMO, it's why GT hired CPJ in the first place.

but miami threw 25 times to 8 different people, not 3 or 4. thus, your analysis is very flawed. even most high school seniors know the difference between dividing by 8 as opposed to dividing by 3

And if they don't, they're not getting into Tech anyway ;)

Last Saturday was probably the biggest recruiting related game we've had in a while. Nationally televised, prime time, against a marquee opponent. Amazing crowd and amazing win.

Was thinking this same thing..but then it hit me that the NEB/MSU and LSU/AUB games were pretty much both in our time slot. I wonder how many actually watched our game.

Coming from a neutral standpoint, I would've watched the other two.

Coming from a TECH fan standpoint, öööö those other two.

LSU/AUB was a blowout from the onset, a number of people probably switched away after a while. For NEB/MSU, depends on the time of the overlap. That game was also kind of a blowout for most of the middle of it.

Edit: Though now that I stop and think of it, ours was also kind of one-sided after Miami got that FG.

CPJ after practice today when asked about Cutcliffe and his remarks about WRs going to NFL in his system

"How many WRs has he put in the NFL.....none....He should worry about his business and not mine."

:bowrofl::bowrofl:

It is behind a paywall on an audio link. Just transcribing. Ken asked the question. I'm sure it will be on the AJC shortly

Talk about indirectly telling someone to STFU. Bravo.

I didn't say they get better production elsewhere. In fact, I specifically said that if they came to GT they could excel and make the NFL.

I'm saying they won't because they don't want to take the risk that we won't throw to them as much as they would be thrown to at other schools.

Miami threw 25 times. We only threw 7. That simple comparison will be enough to deter top wide receivers from signing with us.

The difference is we only play 3 WRs and basically look for only one marquee receiver at a time. We get what, 1 WR recruit per class? Maybe two at most?

We pretty much play 2 WRs on the field at once and rotate out another one. Compare that to teams that rotate 6.

The only worry here is young defense getting themselves out of position and playing undisciplined. But I would love to see a complete demolition.

Love the attitude from CPJ. He's gonna step on the gas and not let up come Saturday. I'm thinking a 17 point victory.

“How many receivers have they put in the NFL?” Johnson asked after the Yellow Jackets’ Wednesday practice in preparation for Saturday’s game against Duke. “I can tell you. None. They’ve had one offensive player go to the NFL in his six years there. … He probably ought to worry about his own business.”

and

“I would think he’s got enough problems of his own,” Johnson said. “He ought to worry about his own problems instead of helping us with ours. We’ve done pretty good against him so far.”

öööö.

mind rite.

Now time to back it up on Saturday fellas

Coach, I thought we were supposed to punch 'em in mouth not in the testicles.

Layin the boom on him! Wow!
