Although it would be fun to drop Hershel and start comparing all their running backs to him.
He's like a quick girley. He's like a little girley. He runs like girley.
I may do that anyway now that I think of it.
so basically you'll never believe him.. there might not ever be another megatron, period... much less that goes to Tech.. that's like saying UGA can't get a RB until they get one like Herschel..
Well I also said "close to" Demaryius's level. That's not nearly as exclusive of a club.
But right, I probably won't ever believe him. That's what happens when you're dealing with hypotheticals related to extraordinary situations...there's no way to prove them.
Basically I don't think a top five receiver would come to play in this offense, at least as it's been constituted at Tech. Nor do I think we need one to be successful, although obviously it sure as hell wouldn't hurt.
If you have to rank RBs over there, this Gurley kid is probably the best since Hershel.
I sure hope they lose some games so he fades from the Heisman watch.
The butthurt is high in this thread
Last Saturday was probably the biggest recruiting related game we've had in a while. Nationally televised, prime time, against a marquee opponent. Amazing crowd and amazing win.i dont understand why, if the person would normally be the type of player that would go to Tech, them not doing so because they are a WR
at least they learn how to block, which is actually a skill that NFL teams love
and getting to have long catches for TDs is pretty fun, i would think, instead of constantly going over the middle for 5-7 and getting crushed like a "west coast" WR would
you guys need to realize that he is trying to get under our skin and try to get us to burn him with the pass; knowing full well that if we just run the ball all over their faces they will have no answer for that
we need to play the game we need to play, and not the game of trying to prove him wrong
Yes, what he said was what recruits here over and over and over again. I know many of you want to believe that this negative recruiting doesn't work, but it does, and it does on both sides of the ball.
And this of course is added to the negatives that have always been used against GT, like academic difficulty, calculus, dangerous location, lack of females, etc, etc, etc.
Before the game Saturday, I remarked that it seemed the intentional recruiting of females to the school had largely remedied this. My wife, however, pointed out that I was just old.

We only passed seven times the whole game. I think that's going to be insurmountable when you're talking about recruiting top wide receivers. No top WR is going to watch that and think it's a place he has to be. The negative recruiting practically writes itself.
Now, if a top receiver does come I think he'll become immensely successful and have no problem getting to the NFL. We saw that with Demaryius. But when it comes down to decision time, I don't think that they're going to take the perceived risk of going somewhere that is so run heavy.
And again, this isn't meant to really be a criticism of the offense. It doesn't need top WRs to be successful.

figures that Moron #1 would come to back up total BS crap
two miami guys got 3 catches each. two GT guys got 2 catches each. please tell me again how WRs at places like miami get much better production???
morans L around
but miami threw 25 times to 8 different people, not 3 or 4. thus, your analysis is very flawed. even most high school seniors know the difference between dividing by 8 as opposed to dividing by 3
take Michael Summers.
he had two catches of 7 throws. compare to Dorsett, who had 3 catches on 25 throws.
who cares how many total passes they throw? why would that affect your decision if YOURE NOT THE ONE CATCHING THEM?
how do the Miami WRs feel about the RB catching more passes than them AT MIAMI, where 8 WRs caught passes, but only one caught more than ONE

Again, guys. This is Cutcliffe. The same guy CPJ has beaten 6 times in a row by an average of 20.8 ppg. I'd be butthurt too if I were him. I'd find reasons to belittle Tech and avoid questions about game strategy too if I were him. He's got nothing. He's about to get pounded again, and he knows it. He's had two weeks to watch film and is fully aware that CPJ is going to piledrive his defense for the 7th straight year. Wouldn't you be pissed off too?
In 4 days...
- Tech will be 6-0 (3-0) and ranked in the Top 20
- Duke will be 4-2 (0-2)
- Tech will start looking at hotels in the Charlotte area
- Duke's run last season will be chalked up as a fluke
- Tech will get coverage as one of a handful unbeatens left (who still haven't played a meaningful game so they're really not that good blah blah blah...)
- Duke will be forgotten
Don't stress over it too much.
