Defense is an embarrassment

No way Thacker survives this season. Not sure if we carry him the rest of the way.

We absolutely cannot pressure a QB. Even our few blitzes surprise nobody and are ineffective. I hate the 4-2-5. Not even sure how many plays our LB's made.
 
They averaged 25 yd per catch and 8 yds per run. 10 yds per play. Thacker damn near outdid himself tonight. Probably not a GT record, but he probably owns that record already and Ole Piss' offense is pretty damn pedestrian to be bending over damn near every play like his defenses do.

When you have lazy players not giving 100% effort on every play, you aren’t going to compete well against anyone. Nevermind the SEC.

remember this unit gave up yardage in chunks to SC State.

Last time I saw a good defense was under Gailey and Tenuta.

No thanks! CTR was a great Tech FB player and a great Tech man, but we don't need that Leaky Roof Defense!

We held several teams to single scores under Tenuta. I think we even held NC State or Maryland under 100 yards one game.

Agreed. That was the gist of the conversation we were having leaving the stadium tonight. Offense shows flashes but the first two possessions of the second half were crucial
The defense ... I'm out of words to describe just how bad it is. The offense has its moments and has potential. But the defense is so bad, we can't miss a turn on offense.
We're going to make games interesting with the offense. But unless something happens drastically with this defense, we'll continue have games where it looks like we're in it but the final score is lopsided.
 
This is gonna be like the CPJ/CTR years where I would watch the offense and then find something to do when Tech was on D. I'm not sure what is worse, the Ted bend and break defense or the one we have now that gives up big plays and can't tackle.
 
We have a long line of bad D coordinators. Womack, Roof, Grobe, that guy during CPJ's last year, currently stuck on CGC's protege.

I'm beginning to think maybe it is just Georgia Tech.
