Demjackets is being unfairly criticized

Exellent post. By the way I am not a hiver but I do believe He, as everyone, has a right to say what they please but to say the things he has said as a supposed insider is irrisponsible and hurts the program more than it would if he did not claim the position he does. It is hard for me to understant why this is not easy to see.

Same here. I don't want to shunt his opinions. I believe he's got a right to express them, and he expresses them in a mature and intelligent manner on the forum here, so that's good for him. But there's a difference between saying "I, the anonymous internet nerd believe the program needs a change" and "I the AA insider who's actual position shall remain anonymous believe the program needs a change." Item one is a benign, BOR style internet opinion. Item two is a lightning rod.

And my concern doesn't just lie with the wellbeing of the program, it lies with Demjackets's job safety. It would be thoroughly lame to get fired for something you post on a board, but that's the gray area into which he's wandered with his posts over the past 9 days or so. I'm not preaching exclusion, I'm preaching caution.
 
It's a message board, a place to share opinions and ideas. Dem is just sharing his opinion with all of us. He forms those opinions based on the information he has around him. I'm not sure why this is such a problem with people.

I like the info Dem brings, on top of his opinions I also feel that he is sharing real information with us. You are not required to believe him or agree with him but the criticism he is receiving is uncalled for.
 
The reason for people criticizing him is b/c he is an "insider" voicing his opinions publicly. while i have no problem with it and enjoy and appreciate all that dem brings to this board, i do think that he should walk softly for his job's sake.

But demjackets has given his opinion with regard to stagnant. It was his opinion and was easily distinguishable between what is fact and opinion. For instance he has stated as fact that if we lsoe to UGAG, CG is gone. Well, I have that into every email response Drad has written the last few weeks. He did not state as fact that Drad or others believe the program is stagnant.

He was giving his opinion. I can distinguish between what he is sharing and whta he personally belives as can you. Now, as for whether he should be giving his opinion, I agree with you it is unwise for long-term job security assuming he really works in the AA. If he does, he's sticking his neck out a lot further than I would. My guess is he doesn't and has us all fooled.

i think we're on the same oage then. He hasn't crossed a line at all IMO other than he could have perhaps put his job security on the line. My guess is he knows someone who feeds the info but doesn't actually work at the GTAA. How old is Drad's son?

He says he loves the guy and speaks like many I know who genuinely like Chat a lot and respect his integrity and faith (we don't have to debate his integrity here). They just have seen enough to know it's time for a change. I'm fairly risk-tolerant so I'm ok with that but as a Gt fan I love and respect consistency. In my lifetime, my goal is to have a head coach stay at least 20 years. Then and only then will GT rise to its glory years IMO. Of course, we need the right guy.

there is no way he gets that info that early without being there or being really close to someone who is.

Get off his ass. If you don't like his opinions fine, but don't challenge and say his opinions are a career limiting move.

Let the man post like anyone else...if you don't agree with him fine...don't agree and say it. There is no need for some of you to attack him

DRad said this? Can you copy that part of the email on here? I haven't emailed him in a while but the last response i got did not mention anything like that.

Also, dem must have some serious stalker skills + bugged mics in offices + be sleeping with DRad to have all the info he has, when he has it.
 
I find it incredibly funny how defenders of Dem's actions are so indignant over an opinion here calling him out. Their complaint basically is "you shouldn't post an opinion on a public forum that may run somebody off." What goes around comes around I guess.

I'm sorry, but for those that can't see that an insider posting negative "facts" about his fellow workmate is blatantly wrong.....Why you can't just kindly say that that information is inappropriate and move on is beside me.

33 , I assume you didn't mean to quote me. I started the thread by defending him. I was not questioning the accuracy of his stated facts nor opinions. I did doubt that he was some peon young guy in the AA like others do. If he's willing to state his opinion, he a) either has mucho job security or b) is tied closely to someone who has mucho job security. I'm the defender of demjackets in this thread so perhaps this psot wasn't directed at me though you did quote me.

If you rad any email responses he has sent to folks blasting Gailey, he basically says three things:

1) I'm not happy with where we are this season.


2) I inherited a contract that I did not like.

3) We'll make a decision after the end of the season.


If he were saying this just to demjackets that's one thing but he puts ths stuff in writign from his blackberry to chan's biggest adversaries. He doesn't have to respond yet does. Anyone who posts here is smart enough to read between the lines.

Thats your problem. You can't seem to get the point he is posting his opinion on the situation. Your problem is you are interpreting them as facts. They aren't....they are his opinions.

and, I think your opinion on this topic is wrong, like many others. So why you can't just kindly say that that information is appropriate and move on is beside me too.

See mid...people can have differing opinions. thats normal. If you lose sleep over the fact people disagree with you...thats not normal. don't lose sleep buddy.

I think what you're missing is that Mid has never once in his life posted a negative opinion about a co-worker or the CEO of his company. Not to a friend in a personal email, not at a cocktail party, not even over a beer with people that will never once actually have an ability to act on his opinions.

At least I hope that's what he's saying or otherwise he's being a gigantic hypocrit.

Ya i agree totally and those are the only answers ive gotten as well. The person I quoted said that DRad specifically said Chan would be gone if we lost to ugag. Just trying to confirm that.

I happen to appreciate Dem, I just hope he uses good judgement. By your quote up there does that mean we are all fools?
 
I can assure you that I have never come close to duplicating Dem's recent position/methods.

I am sorry that you are so hurt by the loss of your information. It is apparent to me that in your mind your "habit" far outweighs decency.
