Dennis Dodd of CBS Sportline says Gailey is already fired.

As badly as I want there to be another HC on the Flats I don't believe that Rad would tell Gailey in the middle of the season that he will be fired at the end. And as much as I don't trust gailey's brain whatsoever, I don't believe that gailey would say anything to anyone.

Therefore I do not think the story has any validity.

Not that there is/was any proof of validity to this particular story, but can you not imagine innumerable situations where somebody's boss has mentioned that "I'm gettin fired soon, so take care of yourself" ?
Just maybe Chan has the same feeling many Tech fans do.

Just sayin.

.....
Perhaps, you, in your infinite wisdom, could enlighten us as to which coach he TOLD "HE IS GOING TO BE FIRED"? Waiting...

Do any of you out there think Dodd would actually identify his source in this type of article? Can you imagine the turmoil if the article said "Hey everybody, John Tenuta told me Chan was getting fired"? (note that I only used Tenuta's name as an example, don't go flying out of control)

Not that I think the article has a great deal of credibility; but expecting a source to be listed is silly. Basically, all I get from the whole piece is that Chan's on the hot seat, wow, what a surprise.

Why? We have to have blind faith in Chan Gailey in order to be tech faithful?

I didn't say you had to have blind faith in Chan Gailey in order to be tech faithful. I said I don't include the Chan Haters in the teck faithful grouping. I didn't have blind faith in Bill Curry, but I was delighted to see him leave with his 31-43-4 record as Tech's head coach. I didn't have blind faith in Bill Lewis but I was even more delighted to see him leave with his 11-19 record as Tech's head coach. I didn't hate either Bill.

I agree - however, *you* aren't demanding that this is, without a doubt, a FACT. You'd think that if any non-credible third party knew this to be a fact (such as the individual above), they'd have something to verify it.

...But for anyone --Tech fan, or otherwise--to think Chan Gailey has done a good job if your goal is the conference championship, a BCS bowl, and beating Georgia at least 10% of the time is laughable. Chan has done an adequate job---if the goal is to be adequate. That is not what Georgia Tech is about on any other level. Adequacy is UAB or Clempsen, or Houston or Oklahoma State. The cliche is "good is the enemy of GREAT." Nice, adequate post. Enjoy the balance of this season. It will be adequate, I am certain.

Yukon, thanks for voicing your displeasure with Chan without referring to him as "the worst coach ever" or 'dumber than a sack of rocks'. Chan is obviously a good coach, I think most of us just aren't sure if Chan is good enough to get us past an occassional ACC runner-up season. IF Chan gets fired, I'll venture to say he will be the best coach GT ever fired.

Based on demjackets quotes here as an insider and based on the many responses DRad has sent to folks here and other places that have been quoted, it is obvious Gailey has a very small margin of error at this point. So, my guess is he has told all of his coaches that if they do noit win out or close to it, he and they will be looking for jobs.

Perhaps, and I don't think this is much of a stretch, Dodd was told Gailey had to win out to keep his job and Dodd believes there is no chance of that happening which means he believes Chan is gone.

Based on what DrAd has publicly said it is obvious Chan is on a very hot seat. I'd say right now he is gone but if he goes 4-0 or 3-1 from here on out with a win over Ugag, he might just keep his job. However, my guess is he has lots of feelers with the pros already and might walk on GT after this season regardless. He made it clear last year he would prefer to be in the NFL.

I think he's done too because I don't see him going 4-0 with his offensive phlisophy. He'll be close in all four of the last games but I don't think we're good enough to win 4 nailbiters.

You're the dense one here. Either that, or you wouldn't know a fact if it hit you in the ass.

Perhaps, you, in your infinite wisdom, could enlighten us as to which coach he TOLD "HE IS GOING TO BE FIRED"? Waiting...

Oh, yeah - ask Dan Rather about credibility in the news. CERTAINLY he wasn't going to STAKE HIS CREDIBILITY on a REPORT that somebody GAVE HIM about BUSH'S NATIONAL GUARD SERVICE, would HE? Gotta give you credit, though - you're good for 20oz laughs.

(BTW, did I CAPITALIZE enough things in MY MESSAGE)?

Still waiting on my FACTS...
