Did they fumble in their own end zone and give us a TD?

Or did King turn into Tom Brady and drive us 74 yards in the last seconds for a gutsy win? The narrative on this is almost the former. That was a dumbarse decision for sure (I think they were hoping he would catch us napping and break it for a TD to run up the score, Kiffen style) but little credit is being given to GT for the real reason we actually won.

Solid point, but to be fair, he didn't "turn into Tom Brady". Miami was playing full prevent, giving him time to throw. And they blew coverage and let the WR get behind them. Glad King was able to get it done.

And the first completion to get down the field was a jump ball that our guy won

Yep, they still had to stop us.

On a kind of related note, it always pisses me off that folks say Reggie lost us the UGAg game because of the down marker confusion. We still had to damn score.
What pisses me off about that claim about Reggie is that Patrick Nix should have been aware of the down, as should have Chan, but Reggie gets blamed.

Yes, the prevailing narrative is Miami gave the game away.

The truth is that Miami left the door open out of arrogance and Tech, playing hard to the last down, seized the opportunity. Miami didn't give us öööö. Tech got off the mat on the 8 count, got up and knocked them out. Coach Key mentioned he talked about the mentality of "never quit" and "don't focus on the clock" and it paid off big time. The lesson obviously sunk in cause these kids literally fought to the last second and pulled out the Miracle in Miami.

Tech deserves a helluva lot more credit but as usual the media picks the narrative. I think it's funny. Let them roast Cristobal and let their fans cry about it all. Tech got the W and they damn sure earned it.

This game could change things for Tech. We may lose the rest of our games (I don't think we will), but everyone on that team learned something very important on Saturday night which is to never quit and never give up and good things can happen. It's a lesson maybe all of us can use.

Thank you. The level to which our folk like to crap on our own team is epic.

Getting the fumble was huge. The D had been ripping at the ball on every carry and not getting it. Miami continued to run the ball. Stupid. Finally, we got it. Then the O had to do some crazy work, and they did. That needs to be celebrated by this board for 2 weeks. Ha! It was epic on its own.

This leads me to a question about ripping the ball and possession. What constitutes possession when a defender's hand is inside his cradle on the ball?

Blown coverage or not, our guy spotted it and put the ball on the money.
King mentioned post game that is exactly how our scramble drill is supposed to work. Leary recognized, broke away, got open, scored. Absolutely two "veteran" players recognizing a situation and reacting. Absolutely great job Leary. Absolutely great job King. And kudos to every player on the field for that series. The new life we were granted woke them up and they played their asses off while Miami already looked defeated.

The throw to Rutherford was great, however when he couldn’t quite get out of bounds I was afraid all was lost.
What's funny is we scored too quick . We had to endure a ööööty kickoff and all that lateral nonsense at the end.

The throw to Rutherford definitely deserves more love. Had to get that one in a tight spot and over the DB.
Just rewatched. Was more a jump ball where the DB made a bad play on it. I don't think it was King putting it in a spot that only our guy could catch it. But credit to King for getting the ball to a spot where what happened could happen.

Link to the play:

Anyone else have a mild heart attack at the Leary "slide"?
Yes that made me nervous, the kick off also did and all those crazy laterals on the last play also made me nervous and then finally I could celebrate.

Little credit? I’ve seen no credit being given to tech and I’ve gotten a bunch of texts about this game, all of which are crapping on Miami’s decision. My respond with well, tech also drove the ball 74 yards with 26 seconds on the clock and no time outs. Most teams still don’t win or tie that game.

He also was sliding left as he threw, and had to get over the DL that drilled him as soon as he let it go.

It was a total Miami collapse, offense fumble, coaching blunder, defensive meltdown.

Hell, for the entire game we had 77 yards passing and had completed 1 pass that went more than 5 yards downfield. Then we went 2/2 for 74 yards with no timeouts in 21 seconds.
