Did they fumble in their own end zone and give us a TD?

Rewatching that game, the thing that struck me most was that we held them to a total of 3 points until the back end of the 3rd quarter....and were leading at the end of the third. We earned it.
Especially since Miami was averaging just under 44 points per game.

What credit do we really deserve? It was 95% Miami's fault with the bad coaching decision, fumble, and horrific prevent defense.

Now, our guys do deserve credit for hanging in there throughout the game and being in a position to win it.
Miami wouldn't have even had the lead had we not thrown an interception deep in our own territory on a bad decision by King. We had to execute at the end to win and we did. Just like Miami still could've executed and won.

I hope this impacts Miami's performance for the remainder of the season, damages their recruiting and leads to post-season transfers out.

But see I think that misses the point as to why no one is giving GT credit. Miami didn't have to "execute" to win. They just had to take a knee.Yes Tech had to cause the fumble and Tech had to make the plays to score. But it really comes down to the fact that in any other CFB game in that situation, Miami wins 10 times out of 10.

The interception by King is just part of football. But this decision to run when the game was already won, this was just boneheaded decision making by the Miami coaches and players.

If Miami doesn't have an all time blunder in decision making no one is talking about this game. Because of it, everyone is talking about this game.

It was if ....
1. Our guys practice one minute drill with no timeouts. You go 1s v 1s in that instance so everybody knows what to do when that happens.
and
2. Miami doesn't. At least not on defense. Other than the first play where they almost ran over King on the rush, they looked as confused as if someone had handed them a differential equations textbook.

We got some huge breaks - but they're not breaks when you don't take advantage of them.

I hope when they review that film as a team, Key credits him for getting open and making the catch and then goes, "don't slide again."
Can a non-QB slide? as in do the protection rules apply to non-QBs?

Seeing as how a defender doesn't have to touch a ball carrier for that carrier to be down, I'd say yes.
But he wasn't sliding for protection. It looked like more for show. There wasn't anyone within five yards of him.
You just don't want the Desean Jackson play to happen.

Why are some of you getting upset saying “Tech is getting no credit” for winning? No one I’ve heard over the last 24 hours is taking anything away from GT winning.

However facts are facts. Had Miami just taken a knee the game was over. Mario C has done this same type of thing at Oregon. Guy continues to prove that he is nothing more than an elite recruiter and bad HC. That said, how the QB doesn’t question the play call or just override it and take a knee is also baffling.

In the end, instead of crying in your cereal playing the lack of respect card, just laugh about it and enjoy a W.

I don't know why he slid. Maybe he thought it was the fastest way to slow himself down and avoid getting shoved from behind after scoring. But he definitely started slowing himself down and beginning his slide as he was crossing the goal line and an over zealous official could have created a very awkward situation for review. I don't think it would have been ruled down either way, but good lord, leaving things up to the refs is always a bad idea.
Run to the back of the EZ. Do not drop the ball. Hold it. Carry it back to the bench, if you have to. Do not slide.

I was in the chat. That is where the hotness was taking place. Gambling, sexual favors offered for points, deals with the devil, fighting, crying, midgets, crying and fighting midgets.....it has it all
I’m still wondering why I was banned. I was swimming in George Stagg and was blackout hammered. Was it something I said? Lol

Or did King turn into Tom Brady and drive us 74 yards in the last seconds for a gutsy win? The narrative on this is almost the former. That was a dumbarse decision for sure (I think they were hoping he would catch us napping and break it for a TD to run up the score, Kiffen style) but little credit is being given to GT for the real reason we actually won.
Amen, brother! Tech wasn't given the win vs Miami. The Jackets made the plays to win the game! Very few teams would have been able to score a touchdown in that short amount of time. What made it even more impressive was how much our offense had struggled to that point. And yet they came up clutch when we had to have it to win. AWESOME!

GREAT VICTORY BY OUR YOUNG MEN ON THE ROAD! HUGE SHOUT OUT TO COACH KEVIN SHERRER!

GO JACKETS!
