Did they fumble in their own end zone and give us a TD?

Little credit? I’ve seen no credit being given to tech and I’ve gotten a bunch of texts about this game, all of which are crapping on Miami’s decision. My respond with well, tech also drove the ball 74 yards with 26 seconds on the clock and no time outs. Most teams still don’t win or tie that game.
Especially Tech. Usually GT jerks defeat from the jaws of victory. The fact that we pulled it out is huge.

Yes that made me nervous, the kick off also did and all those crazy laterals on the last play also made me nervous and then finally I could celebrate.

I thought that GT actually defended that really well. Players stayed in their lanes and waited for the inevitable fumble.

Not keeping the squib kick in bounds was peak GT "special" teams though.

Good thing our coaches don’t read the game thread.
I was in the chat. That is where the hotness was taking place. Gambling, sexual favors offered for points, deals with the devil, fighting, crying, midgets, crying and fighting midgets.....it has it all

Anyone else have a mild heart attack at the Leary "slide"?
FWIW, I think there should be some rule clarification made for future circumstances in which a player does this. His intention was clear to not "give himself up" and slide before scoring. I can see this happening again at some point and a TD getting wiped off the board. It would have been catastrophic if that was the call made by the refs here.

The game thread was a cacophony of calls for Pyron to rescue us.

Don’t think he meant to slide. He lost his balance running after the catch. Crossed the plane on his feet so didn’t matter.

I don't know why he slid. Maybe he thought it was the fastest way to slow himself down and avoid getting shoved from behind after scoring. But he definitely started slowing himself down and beginning his slide as he was crossing the goal line and an over zealous official could have created a very awkward situation for review. I don't think it would have been ruled down either way, but good lord, leaving things up to the refs is always a bad idea.

It was a total Miami collapse, offense fumble, coaching blunder, defensive meltdown.

Hell, for the entire game we had 77 yards passing and had completed 1 pass that went more than 5 yards downfield. Then we went 2/2 for 74 yards with no timeouts in 21 seconds.
We did something similar against Duke I think in the last few years.

It was 2021 and it wasn’t a game finishing drive but there was about 1:00 left and we went 2 deep passes (totaling about 75 yards) to Adonicas Samders to go up by 4 with :40 left.

Or did King turn into Tom Brady and drive us 74 yards in the last seconds for a gutsy win? The narrative on this is almost the former. That was a dumbarse decision for sure (I think they were hoping he would catch us napping and break it for a TD to run up the score, Kiffen style) but little credit is being given to GT for the real reason we actually won.

What credit do we really deserve? It was 95% Miami's fault with the bad coaching decision, fumble, and horrific prevent defense.

Now, our guys do deserve credit for hanging in there throughout the game and being in a position to win it.

if the score before the fumble looked like what vegas expected, the final 30 seconds wouldn't have mattered. We earned the right to benefit off of Miami's mistakes by keeping up with them on the scoreboard.
