DJ donley to USC (east)

That is a shame for Tech, but if the kid's heart is not in it then what are you gonna do?

Best of luck to him in the future. I am sure that CPJ will make the best use of the roster slot that he can.

Yeah, I heard that a little while ago. That pisses me off a little bit. With all the crap about personal, non football related issues and such. Hell, I even heard that he was uncomfortable with big city living. Well, that was obviously bull ****. SC doesn't even have a campus. Their campus is way more urban than ours. Oh well, I hope the door doesn't hit him in the ass on the way out.

I agree ...

... if it were personal issues, I'd be fine with it. Or if it's because he wants to be a receiver in a pass heavy offense, I'd be ok with that too. But don't say it's because of personal reasons and then make a deal to transfer to Spurrier within the week.

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about it and if I'm jumping the gun and being presumptuous, I'm sorry. For all I know, the personal issues have something to do with someone else who goes to USCe, which would make it totally valid.

Well I had heard that a couple days ago myself.

I bet the boys at the AJC are working on a front page kind of story about the transfer as we speak...
outside the fact that they are just now wrote a blog on the last 3 committs that happened several days ago...The bad news travels so much faster to print...w/ the AJC

WTF...What a load of BS he fed us. This kinda pisses me off and I was feeling sorry for the guy.

I retract my statements from the previous thread. I was all for wishing him well for personal issues. He is a kid and I can understand the emotions involved in the first year of college.

This, however, seems like an stab in the back. Rather shady move.

Oh well, we'll win with or without him.

F#$% him. Someone please tell me that we are not going to waive the transfer requirement that makes his sorry ass sit out.

Wow, the rumblings about SC have proven true, imagine him going against Carlos Thomas in practice, Oh the irony.

Unless I'm mistaken, we don't have a say in that. Any transfer to another Div 1 school requires a year of pine-riding. I believe he can use his red-shirt during that time though.

And I was having a good day too. To think, I felt bad for him since he was having "personal issues". Maybe he will get a truck load of them now.

At least he will beat UGA.

DJ has to do what he thinks is best for him. PJ is not the coach that recruited him, and he would not have come to GT under PJ's system.

PJ is going to bring in his guys, so this may be the best move for DJ. I don't want anyone who does not want to be here.

This is all part of the process. Remember we picked up Choice when he transferred.

I don't think DJ is the type of WR that PJ is looking for anyway, IMO.

Big difference. Choice transferred to be closer to his sick mother. DJ appears to have transferred under his own free will - AFTER implying personal issues.

Good riddens. If he's not smart enough to see the value of a GT education vs. one from South Carolina, then we don't need him.

How could he not be the type of WR PJ is looking for? He's big, strong, fast, and athletic with good hands. He would be awesome as a receiver in this offense. He'd be a great blocker and would certainly beat the single coverage he'd be getting most of the time.

He was obviously the type of safety PJ's looking for as he was going to be moved there in the spring and was told he would be looked at as the starter.

Let's don't just say we didn't want him anyway. We definitely want him ... BAD. It's a shame and wasn't handled well at all by him. Of course I think we'll still win without him. I've heard Tarrant and Peterson have shown great things in the secondary. We'll be fine.

I don't have a problem with a player transferring to another school for any reason, but when you play a BS "family issues" card that's a dick move.

Whatever!

It'll definitely bee easier on the young man playing for Spurrirer, who should have a great program and offer basket weaving or phys ed.

We needed him at Safety.

The issue may have been that he figured out he isn't smart enough to complete a GT education. Lots of people figure that out in their first year.

Since he's getting some practice at being a weasel when he is jumping ship maybe he has a future in coaching!
