Do not Blame Jeff Sims for this loss.

Ridiculous. If we have to protect his vision side as if it were his blind side, Sims won’t improve.

Luckily, what you are saying is bullshit and Sims will develop.
He makes it seem QBs look downfield through binoculars or a soda straw.

We shouldn't have to start a Game in "safe mode" due to crappy OL play, we should try to establish what we schemed during the week based on film study, but with an OL that is that up & down, you have no idea what to call.
I think that, deep down, everyone knows we should start every game in safe mode. The OL is hot garbage. If nothing else it helps Jeff settle in as best the line can at least and get past his Geoff Simms phase

Again:

Good to great QBs develop the habit of focusing their eyes downfield and ignoring what is happening in the pocket, they "feel" the pocket while always looking downfield.

If a QB starts looking around the pocket, then he'll have trouble refocusing his eyes on WRs downfield and it will make him late and more inaccurate on downfield throws. (leading to more Ints downfield)

What you and @WracerX think isn't true or counterintuitive is just the way that the QB Position is Played, just because that doesn't line up with your limited Logic and understanding of the QB position doesn't mean you Guys are correct.

Potentially good quarterbacks can have their careers destroyed by poor offensive line play either by serious injury or by becoming gun shy. The offensive line issues need to be addressed soon.

I 100% guarantee that Sims saw both the DT and the DE who got through the line. He thought he could get the pass off in time. The DE came faster than he thought.

The ‘feel’ in the pocket isn’t ESP. It is vision and knowledge of how your line is blocking vs what you expect the defense is doing. It is experience in knowing the speed of the game. He has to be able to process what he sees peripherally and make good choices. That is coaching and it is experience. Sims is getting both.

Credit to the left defensive tackle who was able to not only beat our right tackle, but push him back impeding the pulling LG from getting a good block on the DE who hit Sims arm.
