So official offer? Probably Not. Negotiations with Fritz and Chadwell yep.... I have a GTAA source that they interviewed and couldn't come to an agreement. In writing the only thing you will find is in the abc article below.
From the link Below:
Tech struggled to lure a big outside name because of the school's reluctance to guarantee large portions of the contract, with the amount of guaranteed money a nonstarter for some candidates.

Let me translate that into something that makes more sense, "
Tech wasn't going to get caught again in an absolute öööö contract that could bury the program for good by panic buying into an obvious coaching salary bubble to lure "big outside names" and so the "big outside names" turned to other places that would."
If the amount of guaranteed money is "a nonstarter for some candidates" then there are no offers being made.... because it's a nonstarter.
Tech has done the right thing, especially given the uncertainty going forward with how NIL and portal transfer's are going to effect what happens on the field.
All of CFB is a bubble going into the lunacy stage. I think the divergence between how Tech and Colorado handled their coaching hires epitomizes the extreme conditions emerging. A lot of programs are making bigger and bigger gambles.
The early results of some of these big gambles aren't looking good. MSU with Mel Tucker and TAMU with Jimbo Fischer are examples. Make no mistake, Prime Time and HCBK are both gambles. Any coaching hire is. But Tech has learned prudence the hard way and is better for it. For contrast purposes look at the difference between the size of these gambles:
The AD for Colorado reportedly said they don't yet have the money for this gamble. They signed a very large contract for guaranteed money, that they don't yet have, with a coach that hasn't coached a single game in FBS. That's insane.
I personally think the Deon Sanders hire could end up being the Minsky moment in speculative college football coaching hires. Time will tell but I think this bubble is cresting and when it finally, gloriously pops there are going to be a lot of sad sacks holding a lot of beat up empty bags. Some of which may be Louis Vuitton.
