Does Attendance Top 50K Saturday Night?

North was actually very well attended. The east was weak sauce
I couldn't see the lower east, because I sit in the upper east. Attendance in the upper east was the best I have seen in years. Lower west was about 98% full (VERY GOOD), but upper west was not good. Lower north was jam packed with the students, who actually got there before kickoff. Upper north was about 65%, which ain't bad by recent standards.

Yea lower west was jammed. I felt like complaining that the sweaty fat guy to my right was crowding me seat, I didn’t have room to stretch my legs out, and couldn’t lean back on the row behind me, but I resisted.

A late game on Labor Day weekend helps a lot with the heat. I'm not sure I could have survived an afternoon game yesterday, but it was actually pretty pleasant under the lights. That alone was probably good for 10,000 fans showing up.

Upper north fullness was definitely aided by the loss of a few thousand seats in 219, 218, and 217. Regardless, as full as it has been in awhile. Upper east much improved, still a shadow of former self.

SOUTH STANDS weren't dressed as empty bleachers!

Everywhere else was full and WHITE. Fans did their job.

I was kind of surprised that GSU fans didn't really show up. We are absolutely going to take over The Ted in 2026.

Upper North below the walkway is your solution

It's an improvement.

But keep in mind that just five tears ago we had greater attendance that this in six out of seven home games. The only exception was on a Thursday night game late in the season against NC State when we were already 2-8, including that loss to The Citadel at home, and having just been SPANKED at home five days earlier by VPI. And even that game drew more than 38K.

My point being that Tech should expect to be able to draw 40000+ on the regular. Hopefully Key has us on the way back to that.

I feel like pre-covid we had tons of random groups of youth at the games. It also feels like in the past 10 years there are fewer un-used tickets due to the ease of selling on the secondary market. Speaking of which StubHub had really gone to öööö while SeatGeek is eating their lunch.

Yeah, Gef cratered us hard. Key is digging out of the hole.

Giff was put here to sabotage the program I’m convinced

There are some? I asked my buddy to name a Georgia State fan. He couldn't. I know people who go to Mercer games. Can't name a single Georgia State fan.
Given coming off a winning season, the first in five years, a bowl game, the first in five years, and a bowl win, the first in seven, and a win over a top 10 team to start the season, I really thought we'd have a bigger Tech crowd. I didn't expect Night School to bring many people.
And I don't think this needs to be a series or something played with great frequency. I fully expect the crowd at Center Parc Stadium for the return date to be 90% Tech.
I'd rather have a series with a team that will bring a crowd and help fill up Historic Grant Field/Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Also official attendance numbers will not be correct. We arrived at kickoff and gate 4 attendants were just waving folks through and not bothering to scan tickets.
