Key was lying when he said he was healthy? Interesting, very interesting.He. Was. Injured.

Supposedly he’s been a healthy scratch. I don’t get it, but then again, things like that are usually kept private for a reason.
Regardless, it looks like we may have found our new RB1. Dude was running by people and busting through arm tackles like a man on a mission.
He hits the hole so much faster than the other guys“Found” him? We all know he’s the best RB in the room, and how the coaches didn’t know that is very concerning.

I think everyone assumes his talent has nothing to do with him not playing. It seems like he was in the doghouse, but like I said, things like that are private for a reason.“Found” him? We all know he’s the best RB in the room, and how the coaches didn’t know that is very concerning.

Bench time is the only punishment many athletes understand. If you let a great player with discipline problems play and punish them off the field, they never change their ways. Don't believe that? Look 70 miles east. They need to find another way to punish players other than punishing the entire team by not putting the best player on the field.
Hard for me to believe a coaching staff would literally sacrifice wins to make a point.
He's always been that back that seems to get madder as the game goes on. He was still fighting during the ND and UGAg blowouts, several years back, all the way to the end. He just doesn't get tackled without a fight. He has always been the big back who comes in late and beats up the defense. Keep it that way.
The one marked difference he had success is that he exploited the perimeter of the OL. With Williams in the game he opened some big holes. In the presser Donte did have a good practice and got the nod. He and Key had a come to Jesus meeting as well. I’m so happy for him. Dominant performance. One thing he didn’t do was hit the hole quickly in the first few games of the season. He did last night. We need production out of him.
Donate has been out early the last few games to warm up and put in extra work. He is working hard for that position. I don't put too much weight on a depth chart, being you might be in for the first play and rotated out, but I think we will see a three man rotation against UVA with Smith and Haynes getting most of the reps and Cooley getting fewer touches. The one marked difference he had success is that he exploited the perimeter of the OL. Right. When he played behind Mason and Gibbs he was always coming in later and supplying strength and determination. North Carolina’s defense got vey tired in the second half and did not have the strength to bring Smith down.He has always been the big back who comes in late and beats up the defense. Keep it that way.

Correct.
He did not run hard in the Louisville game and that seemed to dictate his playing time afterwards, plus possibly injuries before or after.
Haynes was in the medical tent late yesterday and came out and headed straight for the locker room with a trainer.Agreed. As good as Haynes is he has shown some wear and tear. Small things like getting up slower, limping, etc. shows the physicality of the game taking its toll. If Donte can come in on the 2nd half of the season and be productive we’ll be good. I think it still hinges with Williams being healthy on the OL. He just makes everyone better around him.
