Duke fans hating on PJ

I hope we were running up the score. Maybe next time Cutcliffe feels the need to talk trash about our program to a recruit he'll think twice.

+1

Didn't Butler sign with Duke, because Cutcliffe was talking about him in practice going up against no WR's? Maybe CPJ was remembering these comments, with our aerial display in this game. :)

That's what Butler said after he signed. I don't know that PJ was showing them something, but then again I don't know that he wasn't. As in, "cover that Lee"

I don't think CPJ would be that petty even though many fans would be.

I'm sure that's why we were throwing.

Or the fact that Duke was successfully selling out to stop all forms of the option and leaving BayBay with single converage..

Doesn't say much for Duke's team that they think putting up 27 is running up the score.

This is what I thought. If the final score had been 17-0, I think most of the Duke fans would be talking about how close they kept they game. But, the last seven points somehow makes the difference in a nail-biter and running up the score? I don't buy it.

I think we should be nice to these folks, though. They're just mad the day after a loss, so try to be friendly on their board if you decide to roam over there.

:laugher:

How can you be nice to pukes? Well, I guess we could start by bowing, telling them how brilliant they are and then kissing their rings. Nope, they wouldn't define that as nice. They expect it because they are pukes.

How can you help pukes? Give them a good ass-kicking and healthy dose of humility at every opportunity to help prepare them for the real world.

I'm sure CPJ could give a rats behind what their fans think. We're 4-1 and moving on to G-Webb --see you next year Dookies.

So true, so true. Plenty of Tech fans tried to be cordial on their board before the game and discuss a little football. I've never seen so much trash talked because of a couple friendly posts.

...or calling a play in while one of our defensive players is injured on the field. Correct me if I misinterpreted what I saw. The refs should have stopped the game.
No, that was our fault. When he got hurt, one of the refs came over to check on him and he stood up. Then he started calling for someone to replace him as he jogged off. By the time we told him to get back down, Duke was already in formation and snapping the ball.

Was not saying CPJ would be doing it to show Butler up, but to show Cutcliffe up, moreso--and to answer those critics about it.

Clapper, I disagree. He crumpled, and while Duke was in formation, there was still a good 2 seconds before they snapped the ball -- and he was second player in. Hard for the line judge not to see him.

My guess we threw more:

1. Message to Sean Renfree & Cutcliff
2. Recruits in attendance
3. BeBe earned it

Honestly, they're DUKE fans. Come on. These are the guys who are incredibly boorish and obnoxious at Cameron. They've employed one of the foulest mouthed coaches in college basketball for decades. They've tolerated horrible football ever since Spurrier left. They are whiny, impudent punks.

Now that I've got that off my chest, I think they'll hate PJ infinitely more in coming years.

They'll go back to not giving a crap about football pretty soon.

In the "most arrogant fans" thread from a while back I posted them as the most arrogant in the ACC.

I think they proved me correct.

Their team is improved, but I guess they think nobody else should improve.

gardner-webb - an early taste of dog death.

Duke, however, was still playing 1st team against our 2nd and 3rd. Their fans wanted them to score, get an onside, score again, and then celebrate only getting beat 24-14 or 17-14. We've seen them do that before.

Rule #1 of being a dominant team is you HOLD THEIR HEAD UNDER THE WATER UNTIL THEY QUIT STRUGGLING.

I'm stoked.

I'll be especially stoked to fish around the Hive tomorrow and see if any of those (no kidding, I laughed my ass off) trash talking Duke football fans, have shown up to eat their crow.

Oh they are there. Yours truly had a very special exchange with one of them.

To be fair to the university in Durham though, there was absolutely no way that mouth breather got a degree from Duke. Hell, there was no way that kid got a degree from Wake Tech.

What was it that the dbag said to a recruit?
