Early Singing Signing Day

So what are we singing? Christmas carols?
Singing your mom's praises. Just kidding, she sucks. Wait, she sucks good. Ok, yey la la la your mom!

Not great with high school recruiting. Really well in the portal. Given he took over midseason and had a lot to fix immediately, I think he gets a B so far. Let's see how recruiting goes in his first full year.
I wonder how many top recruits will wait until the late signing day. Hopefully we can sweep up more recruits and portal transfers.

Do the portal players have to be enrolled to participate in Spring practice or is signing and acceptance enough?

So far a lot 3 stars, and a few 2 stars, for whatever the star system really means.

Hopefully, the new coaching staff are good teachers and can coach the players up, I suppose time will tell.
It's my understanding a five-star rating is supposed to predict a first round draft class (~30 assigned each year). A four-star rating is assigned to the top ~300 players. You would expect these players to have a good shot at developing into league players.

The class is what it is given he took over mid season. He's aggressive in the portal which is good for immediate needs. Recruit for depth/needs behind the portal additions. We lacked high quality starters and depth.

So how is Key doing so far as his 1st year recruiting as head coach?

Killing it. Dude walks on water per Stingtalk. He is messianic.

Sarcasm aside. No recruits within the top 750. As one would expect. Doesn't honestly matter though. Tech wasn't going to make splashes in recruiting outside of hiring Prime. Coaching and player development are the only areas we could reasonably expect improvement. We can expect recruiting classes in the the top 40-50 range for the foreseeable future.

FWIW, Prime ain't exactly tearing it up so far either. 247 shows Colorado at 47 overall and 53 composite.

It's unsurprising that Tech fans have such little understanding just how decimated and handicapped that dipshit left the state of our program.

He couldn't recruit. He couldn't coach. He ran us off a cliff.

Don't care what the rankings say. The adults are back in charge, finally.

This. We've been in the desert for a while but we're about to head to the land of milk and honey! Glory!

Anyone have the scoop on the two that remain unsigned? Curious if it's something on our end or theirs?

I have complete confidence in Coach Key. We can become a good solid team by recruiting players who want to be at Tech and coaching them to maximize their potential. Then, we can build on that. This is the most positive I've felt about Tech football in a very long time. Merry Christmas to all Jackets.

Developing players was a great model in the pre-NIL/easy transfer era. Tech may find some diamonds in the rough but what happens after they are polished and the rest of college football sees them? I suspect they will just transfer to the playoff contenders.
