So last year's recruiting class was better than this year's recruiting class and Coach Prime ran last year's class out of town. Interesting strategy.

the grade i'd give GT for this 2023 HS class is a D
I can't grade Key/Staff as they inherited this and there's no objective metrics for this situation.
Stainsberry and his Clown earned all the blame.

however, portal entries will continue as teams play bowl games up to NCG.
i think the early portal window closes abt 2 weeks after NCG around Jan20.
I'll wait to opine about transfers until then.

Looks Like we have 3 defined Tiers of schools.
Tier 1: Miami, Clemson, Florida State
Tier 2: UNC, VPI, NC State, Louisville
Tier 3: Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, Duke, BC, GT, UVA, Syracuse

What's interesting to me are his comments about how overuse of the portal creates a "transient" team that has to be replaced every year. As many of us have speculated, this may be what held back development of the OL the past 4 seasons.

It has broken out into 3 tiers for last several recruiting cycles. VPI may be in the 2nd tier mainly because they took 26. Duke took 26 and stayed 3rd tier which is telling.
GT almost made Tier 1 in 2020; but hasn't sniffed it since.

Were were tier 1 because of Gibbs and Sims in 2020? Or were they 2019.

It is arguable whether we were the bottom of tier 1 or the top of tier 2. We were 5th in the ACC, almost like we were the lone team in tier 2 that year. Gibbs, Sims, Brooks & Ivey were all 4 stars, and we had half as many 4 stars as FSU who was 4th in the ACC.
2020 Recruit ACC Football Team Rankings (247sports.com)
2020 was an exceptionally good class for us with Gibbs & Sims; but it wasn't anywhere close to a Clemson a Miami typical class.
