I don’t blame them for wanting to leave the ACC. I wish we would.Clemson and FSU can pay the damn fee and GOR and go play Big12 ball whenever they are ready.
"Wanting" is one thing. Throwing a tantrum and filing frivolous lawsuits is quite another.I don’t blame them for wanting to leave the ACC. I wish we would.
Throwing a “tantrum” as you say, and wanting to be competitive from a revenue share per school with the B1G, sec go hand in hand. ACC can’t get out of its own way both on and off the field, court, etc."Wanting" is one thing. Throwing a tantrum and filing frivolous lawsuits is quite another.
They’ve hired away the best coaches and are buying the best talent, it’s tough to compete with thatSomething I'm sure folks are starting to notice is that the prime time basketball slots on ESPN - Saturday afternoon, for example, are all showing SEC games whereas the ACC games are on CW or the ACCN.
Wasn't that long ago that all ESPN showed were ACC games. You couldn't find an SEC game on ESPN. Guess them days are over. The SEC and B1G have eaten the ACC's lunch.

For what? The Big12? Less money? The PAC?That'll show everyone.I don’t blame them for wanting to leave the ACC. I wish we would.
The B12 has leverage. They aren’t locked into a dinosaur contract that ESPN continues to laugh at the ACC over. If the B12 added FSU, Clemson, they can without question renegotiate the contract (which starts in 2025-2031) and easily surpass the ACC. The B12 has already 1 upped the ACC by going to TNT/TBS instead of ESPN+ for football vs the CW. Starting with the 2025 season, the B12 will be on ESPN/ABC, FOX and TNT/TBS. In hoops it’s a combo of above plus CBS. B12 payout per team is behind the ACC currently, but at the rate things are going it won’t last much longer. For what? The Big12? Less money? Or do we get butthurt and leave the conference strike off as an independent? That pathway worked out great for GT in the 60's.

The ACC was the worst conference in CFB in 2024. Playing a lot of games in front of half empty stadiums doesn’t exactly make ESPN want to give more $$ either. Saving grace was SMU snuck into the CFP after Clemson beat them in the ACC CG. That said, Clemson was 0-3 vs the sec OOC.
ACC vs OOC in 2024:
vs sec: 3-11
vs B1G: 4-5
vs B12: 3-3

Doesn't matter......we love Oklahoma State now and that is where we should tie our future. What was the ACC’s record in 2023?
Mike Gundy is still there. He is still a man and he’s 40 but no other team cares.Doesn't matter......we love Oklahoma State now and that is where we should tie our future.
The ACC is garbage (which should be a benefit to GT in 2025). Not sure what point you’re trying to make? The ACC was the worst of the P4 conferences in 2024. Hard to argue otherwise.Leverage hell.

Correct. The bye weeks were the most disappointing. Even Paul Johnson complained about it. I would rather see Georgia Tech in any other P5 conference. We seem to have a fanbase of people who love to get hosed over time and time again while asking please sir give me another. The ACC has never done a single thing for GT. Nada. In fact, the ACC has done the opposite and treated us as an afterthought and hosed us along the way. They did nothing for GT in the popularity contest in 1990 which not only cost us a true Natty but also almost cost us the crumbs. Meanwhile the PAC-10 was pushing Colorado all season like you would expect a conference to do. For those who were alive, when we beat UVA and ended their fairytale, the ACC treated us like the party poopers instead of jumping onboard. Prior to that game, all you heard from the ACC was about Shawn Moore and Herman Moore. Then when little old GT wins they acted like we did something wrong. Then we hire a Hall of Fame coach and they allow everyone to have byes before they play us.
How many times will our fans be fooled into believing the ACC gives any thoughts about GT? I’m sure Phillips is a nice guy and maybe he can pull some magic but for me it’s decades too late. And the second schools aren’t held hostage this conference will be raided. That shows you it’s all a scam. If you have to hold a gun to your partner’s head to get them to stay is it really a partnership?
GT would end up in a G5 if you ran it, apparently. The Big12 is damn garbageCorrect. The bye weeks were the most disappointing. Even Paul Johnson complained about it. I would rather see Georgia Tech in any other P5 conference.
