Expansion

I don't know if that says more about the schools or about Congress

ACC presidents' regularly scheduled call today was canceled. I keep telling you the ACC will sit on it's ass till it's too late.

Politics and lots of moving pieces and variables right now.

ESPN is being shopped for sale. Disney itself is being shopped for sale.

IMHO, it would be very foolish to make a long term conference commitment like adding schools 3000 miles away with these variables becoming more and more influential in the money equation with every passing day.

As much as it all sucks, the ACC should do now what it does best. Nothing.

I don't read anything into that. It doesn't mean they're doing nothing. They could be in the midst of negotiating.

All I take from it is that there's no expansion deal done that they're ready to go public with.

There seems to be quite a difference of opinion. Why not take in Cal and Stanford, make them pay an entrance fee, acquire all the rights you can, since I'm sure they are desperate by this point, then kick them out next week for reasons that can't be named due to contractual secrecy but no refunds!

The only reason to vote no is because you want to leave....but you need 8....so maybe the four are pleading with someone (we see you SEC) to take four more.

Hopefully the only way they admit Cal, Stanford, and SMU is if Notre Dame comes along. That contract would increase revenue and more importantly set up the ACC to have a more equal say in the CFP contract. As it now stands.....the new CFP contract will be written by the B1G and SEC.....that isn't good.
