Favorite Tech/Clemson game?

2011 was awesome, as was 2009 when we opened at home with them and crushed their souls.

2004 was the first game my freshman year. Didn't go up to the game, but campus went apeshit after it ended.

The two 2009 games are 2 and 3, 2011 is probably #4.

2000 is the answer. 2004 is a poor man's version of the 2000 game.

1997 still near the top for me though. First home game of my freshman year, Jackets win on a late field goal, big party that night.

Woah, me too. This is also my exact memory of it. Couldn't tell what happened until the tech fans down there were cheering, and the rest of the stadium was silent.

Cool. I think my first reaction was disappointment that JoeHam had overthrown Watkins. Then the crowd let me know I was wrong. That was a completely unbelievable catch.

Very hard to decide. I think 2000 was probably the best game between the two teams I've ever seen, but 2009 in Tampa was also öööö good and sent us to the Orange Bowl. 2011 was wild, and probably the most unexpected win (in terms of pregame expectations) against Clemson that we've had since I've been watching Tech football.

I don't think 2004 was a great game overall, but it had the best ending of them all.

2011. I've only been to two, and 2011 was waaaay better than 2013

Anybody with a synopsis of the 2000 game? Haven't heard about it.

'06. My first road game and where I went from "I am a fan of the team of the school I got to" to "Georgia Tech superfan". Made a lot of friends from the AMC rv crew. Had a blast tailgating. Still probably the loudest game I've ever been to, louder than Lane Stadium for sure. Became addicted to road tripping to games.

But we got annihilated...

Which year at Clemson was the tropical storm/monsoon? Will never forget that experience, not necessarily the game itself.

1989 at Clemson. A great game by Shawn Jones and Bobby Rodriguez had a good one. Bobby Ross was just putting things together that would lead to the great season in '90. Tech fans stayed to cheer the team when they boarded the bus. The smile on Bobby Ross's face was unforgettable - half relief that the difficult early days were now over, and half anticipation that something pretty special was coming together.

Can't win all of them. Didn't stop it from being an awesome trip. I honestly hated going to school at Tech for the first two or so years but football was a fun distraction. I was not a Tech fan growing up, and while I cheered for Tech and enjoyed the games freshman year, I really got into it sophomore ('06) year. Helped me to identify myself with Tech. Also, I do not get butthurt over losses (with some exceptions).

However, I had field passes to both the '09 home game and the ACCCG. Thomas fell down into the endzone on that 70-yarder right in front of us (I was on basically every draft highlight for Bebe that year, it was kind of funny). Could hear him thump into the ground. It was incredible. Due to the vantage point, it was the single greatest play I've ever viewed in person.

Also, Anthony Allen's long run in the home game that year happened right in front of me. I swear you could hear him sucking wind as he was coming down the field. I was not convinced he was going to make it until he actually did.

2009 ACCCG for me. I drove down expecting absolutely nothing and basically expecting to lose after the awful loss to Georgia the week before. Was able to buy lower level 10th row 45-yard line tickets for about 50 bucks a piece online since attendance for that game was so poor in Florida. Turned out to be the most memorable game I've ever been to along with GT-Auburn 2003 and the Iron Bowl last year (I always wanted to go). But the ACCCG ranks #1 above those. So much offense. Clutch defensive stop on the last series. Oranges on the field. CPJ actually smiled. Just awesome.

I think that was 2002. Had Hollings tearing it up but Pat Nix insisted on throwing bombs into a monsoon.
