Favorite Tech/Clemson game?

1984. Clemson at Tech. 28-21 Jackets. Great day. The next month and a half wasn't so swuft. But that 3-0 start was good.

2000: The Clemson title dream crash and burn that cratered Clemson the rest of the season. I was in corporate box seats at the 40 yard line for the Watkins one hander. When Goose needed a play ... Goose made a play.

1990 by far...I was a freshman at North Georgia College and had to 'sneak' off campus to go to the game...I made it back just in time for the evening formation roll call. My company commander knew I had left campus but he was a Tech fan and let it slide.
That goal line stand was epic especially since there was a huge hole for the running back but out D tackles were quicker and closed it down.

Saturday was great, but 2011 ranks above it. The energy in BDS that night was just awesome.

I will have to add this one to the list. Not the best, but up there.

2000 is the answer. 2004 is a poor man's version of the 2000 game.

I was at both, and the 2004 game was better.

Like Flunkout, I got road burn from the concrete stands after I got knocked down in the absolute mosh pit that erupted in the GT section. I've never seen anything like it. I'm surprised there weren't worse injuries because of how steep the upper deck in that stadium is.

I was at UGA 1998 and Clemson 2000, and neither held a candle to Clemson in 2004. Those were awesome last-second wins, and they were bigger wins, but they weren't as dramatic because at at the end of those games we had the ball and a chance to win the game. At the end of the 2004 Clemson game, we had no chance. We were down ten points with two minutes left and had no momentum. Then at the end they had the ball on second and one, they'd been running all over us all game, and we couldn't stop the clock. One yard in two tries and they're kneeling on it. Even forcing a punt and throwing a hail mary looked unlikely. Winning required not just one but four miracle plays in succession -- stops for no gain on second and third down, the muffed punt snap, and the TD pass. We were toast -- and we won anyway.

Question: Do we only bring out that yellow hammer for home Clemson games? What's the deal with that? Please enlighten me

It's hard to put anything above 2000. I was only 13 so the players were more like gods and monsters than kids to me. I remember being home alone and when Goose connected to Watkins I lost my mind and in the process flipped over the top of my dad's recliner, taking the chair with me. I'd felt terrible for Watkins since the end of the NC State game and he got his redemption ten times over. It's strange how out of place Godsey looked in that offense and on the field in general but his command of Fridge's offense was beautiful.

2004 was incredible but only there at the end with The Catch II. The rest of that game was agonizing outside of Calvin doing his thing.

2009 was, as someone else mentioned, awesome, then terrible, then awesome again.

The 2009 ACCCG is probably the closest thing to 2000's greatness. I've gone on at length on here about my experience that night, it was truly perfect. That feeling when Morgan got the sack to clinch it is a feeling I want more often. There are few things better than being there to see Tech win a championship.
