We don't have Alabama talent or even VT talent on defense, but we are not 7.6 yards allowed per play bad. That is scheme.

So why didn't one of the other DC's scheme work, either?
 
CPJ wanted to hire Ellis Johnson. We didn't have enough money.

We may very well be that bad talent wise. That's not an excuse for Ted though because he is partly responsible for the talent. We don't have the talent to run Bama, VT, or even John Tenuta's scheme.
 
I want him gone. Tech man and all but the defense is a disaster and he has a track record of mostly badness. Before you say "National Championship", see my signature. It's like Scott Loeffler, the OC. Sucked at Auburn, sucked at VT, now he's sucking at BC. Roof sucked at GT, sucked at Duke, sucked at Auburn, now he sucks at Tech again. Weren't we generously giving him a second chance, thinking he'd improved since the Danzler debacle days? He hasn't.

It won't matter if we fire him if we don't have the money to get someone better. He frustrated the öööö out of me today but until we can afford to pay a DC $1million and higher, we're gonna end up with more of the same.
 
Roof was a bad DC when O'Leary was here. Look at the difference in the two D's today. Dook was in our backfield at the snap of the ball. Teddy's players were too busy watch the Dook QB run down the field. Tackle?? Oh yea hold on to the other team players, stop throwing your arm out here and thinking that works. Yea the Refs suck like always. They may have been basketball refs. Either way Teddy is not getting the job done. No more 'he is one of us crap'. Teddy needs to go watch is boys play and we need a DC who gives a damn about winning and can communicate to the GT players.

What makes you think he sucked at Duke as a DC? Serious question. Most Tech fans at the time seemed to think George O'leary's interference at GT was the reason Ted did so much better when he got to Duke.

Second, why do you leave out Minnesota and Penn State?
 
Since Tanuta, and even during some of his tenure, GT's defense has been less than stellar. If you change the DC, don't expect anything different unless something else is changed.

If it wasn't for Jasper Sanks, that game would be another nail in his dubious legend...
The results indicate that not much has changed...

Dude. We pay roof 750k a year. If you go look at all the assistant coaches in all ncaa football he is top 25 in pay. And top 15 for all DC.

Please. Fire his ass and get someone good. There are only a few dc that make more than a million. Plenty other good ones in roofs pay range and lower
 
If we fire Roof say goodbye to the Swilling boys and a good number of our recruits this class. In other words you cant fire him. Because we bitch about talent but we cant fire the guy who has talent attached to him.
