Ive seen all of PJ i need to see. It wont work, he cant recruit, and its time to move on. I dont see how anyone could defend him anymore.

Fumble still wasn't cpj's fault. I'm guessing it was also his fault too when Vad fumbled after a 15 yard run and GAVE ole miss 7 points.

CPJ is the best we can do. His is an O system that is great in HS, good at ga south., ok at USNA and is what it is in a power conference like the ACC.

No you are correct. Fumbling was not his fault. Calling a play in a crucial moment to a total scrub who hasn't done öööö since he's been at GT, IS HIS FAULT!

Are you that ignorant, or just trolling?
The fake punt play is a read play, if you see something there ( I.e there are no defenders over there) he tries to run it. If not ( defenders are there) he punts rugby style. Nowhere in the play is it designed for him to stumble and fall without being hit by a defender.

I think the result was more to do with the ole miss lb or saftey coming full steam at Dennis and was unblocked. Dennis panicked, similar to what Dwyer, a non scrub with nfl talent, did when he thought it was a good idea to take. 20 yard loss during the orange bowl.
 
Pawl is done next year. Thank God. Hated it from day one. Once he lost Gaileys players he sucked. Now we can't recruit any offensive playmakers. Our best player was a 5'6" walkon.

We have a huge OT who could start for most teams right now as well as a couple of other decent OL types. We also have a quarterback who looks to me to be the perfect pistol type quarterback. Why not make the move right now?

Good coaches adapt, hire new OC's. Why can't PJ and we could get a jump on the new Roof HC, w/ Godsey OC a year later.
 
The game has evolved and CPJ is stuck in a time warp. His version of the option is unbearable to watch against any competent defense. Ole Miss ran option plays better than we could. He needs to go because he is too stubborn and arrogant to let anyone else call plays.

No passing game. No 2-minute offense. It takes a QB 3? Years to learn the freaking system??

He is gone but it wont be til end of next year at best.
 
He could have called that "not blocked reverse play," just like he could have called the not-blocked-pass-play or the not-blocked-rocket-toss play. Fans put way too much on play calling and too little on execution. I think many times, those rocket tosses or other options may have been there schematically but we couldn't block for them.

What honestly makes me question CPJ seriously is how him and his assistants have coached execution and recruiting. If WR's and AB's continually have issues blocking and route-running, could it be because the offense puts so much on their plate to practice, to the point where only RS Jr. or RS Sr. can really execute the whole offense well? At the BCS level versus Navy, CPJ may need to build in more expectation of turnover. I mean, at Navy or at GSU for that matter, he didn't have to deal with things like the leading receiver leaving the team twice before their Senior year (Hill and Greene). Our other receiver, Autry, went out for the year, leaving Waller and essentially a freshman in Smelter as our receivers. And Smelter apparently had some serious route-running issues, likely because of all that is put on the plate for WR's, for blocking, route-running and catching.

As far as recruiting, I don't really follow it so I didn't realize this until I looked it up for another thread. But we finished in the 40's his first few years in Rivals rankings, which is alright for our standards, but #57 in 2012 and #85 in 2013? That's utterly terrible and Chan-esque years could be really good coaching with the talent that gives us.

But if you are the coach, you have to know what you can't call because it won't work at game speed. Doing it in practice is not the same thing as doing it when the OL and Sims are getting their asses handed to them. Sims was getting owned by a 185# defensive back.

It was indeed a terrible call. When we were down six and had Ole Miss third and long, last year's #1 WR recruit got one on one coverage from Nealy and beat him for a first down. That was equally as bad a play call.

You have to call a play, whether you want to or not. Option wasn't working. Pass wasn't giving Vad enough time. The reverse had slightly more downside but also more upside if the Ole Miss players really did overpursue and leave a receiver wide open. And it wasn't that much more downside than a sack or option stopped deep in the backfield.

When it's 4th and 15, a decently smart coach REMOVES the read play option because the chances are so slim that you will pick up the first down.
