Football '08 Jerseys

Are you proposing we keep that current shiny gold? By the way, I've yet to see GT in an OLD GOLD uniform.

I liked the last uniforms just fine, but they could be changed and tweaked it if they want to. I am against changing our colors to primary Navy since in my opinion it will change our trademark. We need desperately to build fan support and rally around out athletic teams and trademark is important in this aspect. To say that we cannot find Old Gold colors in fabric is ridiculous. I have some in my closet. I believe Navy was intended only for trim. Come on, the Ramblin Wreck is Old Gold, the Team mascot is Yellow Jacket, we are not Navy.

"...dress her in white and gold..."

A lot of teams stick with their basic uniforms and have been doing so for decades: Penn State, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio State, Texas, USC, etc.

As a 38-year fan, my opinions is that the best look has been white tops and gold jerseys...simple and traditional.

Save the gimmick uniforms for Oregon.

Tennessee's orange is not close to what it used to be. Either is Texas's burnt orange, nor Ohio State's helmet. I did notice during the bowl season that USC's cheerleaders are still wearing the same outfit. Maybe their time is passing by too.

I think every team's helmets except for Penn State and ND have changed radically since the 50's. I remember tOSU's helmets in the 50's looking quite dated.

As for our uniforms, I never really liked the "Vegas Gold" uniforms either. Keep the helmets gold with white or blue jersey's and try to make that gold standard with all Tech stuff. I never got the mustardy looking stuff they sell at Wal-Mart.

Those teams all have a darker dominant color, not gold. I like the white tops and gold pants too. The problem is that we have to wear a 'dark' color for our home games unless the other team agrees. This means wearing the shiny gold top or something different.

By the way, I think we've always had this problem. The name 'yellow jackets' game from folks attending the games. Seems like the fans couldn't wear gold then either:)

And Bama.

I think they were the norm in the 50s but everyone else changed. Now they stick out by being consistent and old school.

Forget about the uniforms. We should go back to the old giant shoulder pads used in the 70s for intimidation. Watching old games on ESPN Classic made me notice how much larger the pads and jerseys were back then.

Now, the pads are smaller and the jerseys all stretch. I assume the smaller and tighter jerseys give opponents less to grab, but those giant jerseys sure made everyone look larger.

My bad...me just likey white and gold so much.

Navy has been a color of tech since day one however small apart it may have been. I personally thought the uniforms that were worn for the acc championship were the best I've seen. So I welcome the new uniforms. New uniforms, new coach, new offense. I've heard from reliable source that the new uniforms r really sweet!!!!! I cannot wait to see how badass our players will look!

The smaller shoulder pads give the players a larger range of motion and are lighter, therefore giving them an actuall advantage. I think we would all agree that the way our players play is more important than what their uniform looks like.

Somebody needs to check the batteries in his sarcasm meter.

The women's basketball team made a navy SWARM shirt, and it looks fantastic, for what it's worth. Much better than any men's SWARM shirt I have gotten. I can actually feel normal wearing it outside of Tech campus.
