From an AD perspective I think he's done a large amount in a relatively short time period, and would be able to make a strong case for a higher profile school's job opening.

He’s done some good things fundraising wise. Is the admin him or Cabrera? I would think that it is more the prez than him given the previous prez’s that seemed fairly indifferent (Clough) or incompetent (Bud).

Higher profile schools don’t have issues with money or fundraising. I would think that they would want to see an ADs track record making coaching hires. Early returns for CDS are fairly poor at this point. Key has turned things around, Baseball program is stuck in the mud. Mixed bag on the coaching front, but has seemed to generate more enthusiasm for GT athletics in general—having the prez care really matters, of course.

Hope the Batt proves to be a great AD for GT. I just think that the jury is out still if I am a factory looking for a new AD.

I asked J a little while ago whether he was going to stick around for a while or use this job as a stepping stone. He said if he was to leave for a better offer it would be because his performance had left GT in great shape, but he didn't plan to pursue other openings.

I hope that he smashes it here. Good knows for way too long, GT has been GT's biggest obstacle to success. Hopefully, he & Cabrera can change a lot of that.

I remember once someone here told me it was crazy, wild tinfoil-armored conspiracy theorist stuff to say that the CFP and the networks were colluding with their preferred conference partners in order to maximize the profit for themselves at the expense of the soul of the sport and all the schools and fans outside of their special circle.

Kinda funny. Out here in the PNW, when a team can’t get out of its own way, the local phrase is that they “Coug’d it”. I suppose that’s akin to Clemsoning.

Kinda glad we don’t really have our own term for that. Closest I can I think of is Chanesque, but that has a certain yin/yang about it.

To be fair, just between us here, I think if any team has suffered such line play over the years, so as to deserve an extended period of perfection in same, it is Tech. From the safety of the upper east or my living room, I have said some things about Tech men in the past, of which I am not at all proud. Sometimes there was no means of expressing the thoughts without autohypnotic trance and some truly, truly foul glossolalia. But, if there is any justification in that, nearly all of those remarks were directed to our offensive line for what felt like crimes against humanity, or at least against me.

Anyway, if we could get back to matters of import:

There is reasonable doubt that the play in question was actually a sack (as opposed to a TFL). My take in the post-game thread was that it wasn't but the stats show it as a sack.

We are 2nd nationally in sacks yielded (4 total). Army is first (3 total). But Army's 3 sacks are on 69 pass attempts. Since a sack counts as a rush, we'll say three sacks per 72 passing plays so about one sack per 24 pass plays. We, on the other hand have 310 pass plays so about one sack per 78 pass plays - three times more than Army.

Bloody remarkable.

If occasional blue pants are the price we have to pay to ensure white jerseys 99% of the time, that's a price I'm willing to pay.

Yeah, once I saw this I basically came to the same conclusion. I have my own ideas of what our uniform system should be, but since that is unlikely to ever happen, I do like the idea of wearing white jerseys every game, as a rule, and only switching up the pants and hats. It would be nice to have a bit of order or purpose in there but neither of those two things are available in abundance anywhere on this planet at the moment, so I'll take what I can get.

Also the blue pants are really starting to grow on me. I'm guessing Miami had something to do with that.

Respect. We don't hate UGA enough.
I agree, we have not been aggressive enough in adapting to a world increasingly saturated with hatred. I like the bear burial a lot, very modern.

So let's think about this. Does Georgia have anything they cherish, roughly the size of a large teddy bear?

White jerseys every game are not really an option unless we get our opponents to agree. They have first choice for away games, I believe. Maybe its home games, not positive. Either way, we dont have first choice for all games. So we sometimes HAVE TO use non-white jerseys as a matter of rule.

The Syracuse graphic is wrong. They also beat a #24 Tech at home
