For the Few Johnson Critcs....

Nah, if he's going to laugh in someone's face and be smug he can catch some heat for it...he's a big boy.

What's really sad though is that nobody understood what he was (apparently) trying to say and he thinks it's everyone else's fault.

Kinda hard to "laugh in someone's face" via the internet, but I digress.

If you don't understand simple English when I tell you that there were good skill position players already at GT....I can't help you.

I laugh every time someone says this.

GT had a roster of good players for this system already. Naturally, the OL was lacking, I'll give you that.

I never once said that GT should be a great option team due to Nesbitt. You're attempting to make stuff up to support your argument.

What I said was that GT had a good stable of players for the offense when PJ arrived.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

I'm not implying anything.

You're providing the implications.

All I've said is that he had a good set of skill players already here. Is that arguable?

I simply stated that GT had a good set of skill players here when he arrived. This is an undeniable fact.

That's a lot of repeat posts for you to STILL not get it.

I totally get gsu's point. And, I think it's valid. If PJ is looking at a team with nothing but pocket passers (ala RichRod and Michigan) vs a team with a good dual threat QB, then I've got to think he'd prefer the team with the dual threat QB. If we had nothing but pocket passers here last year, we'd have been in dire straights, record wise the first year. We would've had to wait a year for him to bring in a QB and let him develop a lot in that first year. But, we didn't because Nesbitt fit the system very well ... (because of his skill set, not his experience).

Dwyer probably looked great to him as well vs going to a team without a good, big, bruising back (it helps that Dywer is blazing fast as well).

gsu is not saying PJ's getting more of his type of guys is not a good thing, he's just saying that he had some good things to work with when he got here, and wasn't in a RichRod/Michigan situation.

Would cooper Taylor have been looked at QB last year if we had no one else

Great question ... or Dominique Reese or even Morgan Burnette. We probably would've ended up going with Jaybo, which may have turned out ok, but almost certainly not as good as last year's 9-4.

That's because Gailey was an idiot. But not having an OL that fits the system is a huge issue. The guys have worked hard but we still have some issues with quickness and getting low.

Not to take another swipe at the Chanster, but are you saying that his small slow oline fit his pro system better? :laugher:

I'm still pissed at Chan for waisting a year of Nesbitt's elligibility. He should be a RS-Sophomore right now.

What I cant stand is when people say that PJ is a bad coach due to his play calling, he is only the second winningest coach in the history of the game for his tenure so far... Tom Osborne be scared! I am pretty sure he is a better coach than many of the arm chair coaches that come out of the woodwork using hinesight in their favor after a loss.

Or even "hindsight."
:fingersx:

No, this was in reference to using Nesbitt for a year and only having him throw 5 passes. Sort of a combination of wasting what should have been his RS year, and using him as a runner instead of a passer given the competition.
