There was NO JT5 that was going to show up and save us.

Chan had 6 (six) seasons (2002-2007) at Tech and lost to ugag 6 times, including seasons with his recruits and including some outstanding talent. There is nothing about his history to suggest he would have beat the dwags in 2008.

I think that is pretty smart bet. They were playing pretty well early in the year, and injuries and some really stupid coaching moves have dropped them down a notch. I have GT and 23.5

I was in favor on Channy getting canned as I was tired of seeing the team quit on him a few times a season. No wins over Ugag, no major bowl wins, etc. He is the quinntesential 7-5, 6-6 type.

I am for GT, not just Coach Johnson; I just don't get many on this board who minimize the success the program enjoyed under him.

I am hopeful that Batt can find a coach that can help GT overcome the talent differential that it faces with the better programs on the schedule.

The 08 game had a bit of luck involved with it too. A timely Samuels fumble. UGAg probably wins without that.

We had a bit of opposite luck with Chan. The refs assisting with a fumble recovery for a TD for UGAg.

There is no excuse for losing the 09 game. Most talented team we have had at GT in decades.

And never had a losing season. Didn't break our bowl streak. Recruited Calvin Johnson away from the Gaggers. Demaryus Thomas. Stud defensive players who made it possible to beat UGAg.

CPJ's players were getting tossed around like UGAg was playing the local 8th grade team.

Yea, and how about the rest of the team. How did that work out? UGAg was literally playing with us like a cat would torture a chipmunk. They were physically dominant at every single position.

So what's your excuses for 14 & 16? Can't believe you are ööööting on a win over the dwags. Are you really that butthurt they fired Chan?

Maybe he would have won, maybe lost, but 08 would have been his most talented team. You had like 15 NFL players on the roster. Chan probably would have beaten UGA eventually, especially in 09-10 when they were putrid. Missed opportunities both years there.

Yep. Refs helped.

Just like refs gave UGAg the 97 game.

We were out of talent. Gailey and Tenuta and staff were recruiting pro quality players. I do wish Threet had changed his mind. I would have liked to have seen Peek playing TE.
 
Oh God. Now again we have gotten back to like 15 years ago on this board.

I like that 06 team beating the 08 team with neutral coaching/styles.
