Gator Bowl not happy...

The game is at noon...you could make it back to Evans, GA easily by bedtime. :-)

Like I said, Santa don't work for free. With Christmas right around the corner that pretty much does it for our finances for this month. But hey, we had a good time last weekend. At least the mascot game was enjoyable to watch!

If Gaily would announce that he is starting TB at QB then more Tech fans would go. I would.I am not going back to Jacksonville again to see the Reggie Ball show though.

Unless we make a good attendance showing, regular trips out west are in our future bowl plans - short of winning the ACC. The ACC victories and lossess agreement will fall apart since the ACC will fear a Wake, Duke, Tech 1,2,3 finish someday. Clemson and FSU will get to pick their bowl yearly even if they finish with 6 wins each.

Jacksonville is not an ACC city. For that matter, neither is Atlanta. It is a long drive for most fans and is not a true destination city that you feel that you missed something the first time. Move the game to Charlotte and the stadium will be 2/3 filled or more depending upon the teams.

Has anyone alerted the Gator Bowl folks that Bobby Dodd sacrificed a bigger bowl to help them out back in the 50's or 60's. It's their turn to suck it up.

so far only 9 are going to the Gator Bowl??? Man, we've got a fan base that will travel?!?!? Can't blame Wake for the poor showing last week...

Are you surprised? I'd like to see Roll Call for those planning on making the trip to the Gator Bowl....We average 50 viewers online all day....do we have 50 going from Stingtalk?

This is a big reason the missus & I are going to Jax--haven't had many opportunities to go to an east coast bowl & would like to get rid of the stigma that our fans don't travel.

I'm going with 7 others.

Looks like the number of people continues to grow...

I know that when I ordered my tickets yesterday, the rep told me they had 6 lower-level seats left. I would consider that to be selling fairly well given the circumstances.

Any word on whether or not there will be another tour? The pregame tailgate for the ACCCG worked out perfectly, and I'd hope they'd do it again.

Uhhhh...yes, you can. GT easily had 30K for the ACC-C game. Wake and locals are the groups that didn't show.

Don't use slow sales to the Gator Bowl for piling on (and that's the only point of your post).

SEC game has always sold out regardless...

For this year, the Music City Bowl with Clemson and the Peach Bowl with UGA are ALREADY sold out.

Were any of our bowls the past five years sold out? The ACC CG this year? Will the Gator Bowl be this year..

Must be everyone's else fault.. not ours at GT.

The west coast bowls don't sell out no matter who's playing...that's no a Tech issue. Actually I don't think any ACC bowls typically sell out except for the Peach, sometimes the Gator, occassionally the car bowl. The Music City didn't last year..was that our fault? Neither did the Gator...must have been on us too?

I'm not too sure the SEC CG always sold out. In the early years when it was bouncing around in Tuscaloosa or wherever I'm not sure what the attendance was. But that's the point. The SEC fills that game no matter who plays. The ACC isn't at that point yet. I don't believe that any ACCCG yet has been a sellout. It's not a Tech thing it's an ACC thing. Your stubbornness in trying to find more and more stuff to blame on Tech really is almost sickening. Do you even like Tech? What's the deal?

I am angry with the Peach, not the Gator. The Peach gets to pick #2 for one reason only, so that the loser of the Chamionship game does not have to go back to Jacksonville. The love the Peach has for the Dawgs and the disdain they have for us led to this.

We should have received a Peach Bowl bid. South Carolina, Auburn, or Kentucky would have been a good match. Or, if they love the Dawgs, a rematch would have been fine.

In retrospect, we probably should have let the Gator pass on us. They would have invited Clemson. Tech fans might have enjoyed Nashville vs. Kentucky, (my favorite), Charlotte vs. Navy, or a return to Orlando. I'm 50/50 on whether six of us will go to Jacksonville or stay home to enjoy New Year's.

Finally, if WVU loses their coach to Bama this week, we might have more Yellow Jacket than Mountaineer fans at the Gator. Their's is a great bowl that deserves better than this.

We couldn't sell out the best seats in the house, GeeTee, the Club Section b/w the 20's. How many years are left on CCG's contract. I see a buy out in the future.........
You are ignorant of the facts. The club seats allocated to GTAA were sold out before tickets were even offered to non season ticket holders. As a matter of fact, our entire initial allotment was sold out during the priority period.

Straight BS. I placed an order for 2 club seats (I have minimal priority with A-T, approx 50 pts). Not only did I get rejected for the club seats, I sat in the $80 level on the Wake side (because club $125 and $80 seats were both sold out on GTs side).

GT sold out its entire allotment of 15K seats and it's rumored that we received (and sold) another 10K that Wake and the Gator Bowl couldn't sell.
