Gibbs got Collins fired

No way. No WAY. He is not nearly the running back that Kamara is. Not strong enough. Not enough sand in the loafers. When Tech and Bama tried to run him between the tackles, it was not pretty.

Gibbs finished 20th in the country in "all-purpose" yards last year. And over 200 of those yards were empty calorie kick return yards. He was 61st in the country in rushing. With Alabama and Nick Satan and a Heisman QB keeping defenses honest. Wow.

But no wonder you think he's so ööööing awesome. He's Fool's Gold, and you're a fool.
They ran inside zone constantly. Now I know you don't watch football, but he doesn't run the ball inside well. He was also splitting time with the other back. He averaged 6.3 YARDS A CARRY. That puts him at 18 for a guy splitting half his stats with another guy.

Yeah. Colleges stats the same = they must be the same. That's the ticket. :rotfl:

Do I really need to post the 2022 stats of 15 other dudes which are better than Gibbs' stats?

Or can I just point out that Pro Football Focus grades him as the 75th best prospect for the 2023 draft. WELL behind Georgia Tech's own Keion White. Which looks just about right to me. Any team that spends more than a 3rd round pick on him is a fool.

The good thing is that it won't be too long until we see if he's a star like you think, or a mediocre disappointment like I think.

Ahhhhh yes, PFF is always correct lmaoo, it’s one of the worst football rankings ever.

Literally lol’d at that part. Spot on.

Kamara wasn’t a superstar out of college. It’s a very apt comparison. The running backs taken ahead of him (CM, Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon, Fournette) are also very good so it’s not like saying someone is like Kamara means they’re something untouchable.

I do understand that simply comparing stats and play style isn’t always the best. I don’t know about size and strength comparisons that’ll come out in the combines but certainly it’s not hard to see why people would gravitate to the comparison.

Agree; but I think one unmeasurable is heart. I think Kamara has it; but with Gibbs is will depend very much on what team he is with and the situation. Gibbs will quit on you. Even at Alabama it looked like he turned it on and off whenever he felt like it.

Ridiculous comment. Gibbs was our best player since Calvin and he’ll be in the NFL. This hate for him is just funny. If anything he proved how smart GT players are by leaving the mess created by the two who were escorted to their car. Gibbs will be just fine because a team will take him who will want to use his skills. He’s in a great spot right now.

Justin Thomas was a better player for us than Gibbs and it's not even close.

I doubt we have 12 more of those plays total during the post CPJ era.

I misread this the first time and was about to spend way too much time in cfbstats.com looking at GT squads from 2008-2018 to prove you wrong.

I’m assuming that he meant ‘physically’, Gibbs was our best athlete since Calvin. That probably isn’t true as Bebe, Waller, and Sneezy would all best him. Guys like JT5 and Shaq Mason don’t have the physical tools relative to their position group, that Gibbs has.

It will be interesting to see if Gibbs has a more productive NFL career than Jordan Mason.

Yeah. Gibbs was likely our most talented player of the Collins era. But when you start going all the way back to Calvin, it turns out we've had more than a few very, very talented players.

Hell, the whole reason Collins got hired was he brought in a group of talented players post Calvin. Gibbs isn’t more talented the Morgan Burnett or Derrick Morgan. Michael Johnson came in as a stick, but was a better player relative to DE than Gibbs is for RB. We have had a good players since Calvin. Gibbs is on the same level as Steven Hill (and that is a compliment).

Barring some sudden, large weight gain and learning how to pass-block, Gibbs will most-likely be a glorified KR/PR. He doesn't have the size nor durability to run in between tackles in the NFL and whiffs on blocking way too much to be considered for a starting NFL RB gig. He does seem to have motivational issues as well.

Gibbs is an amazing athlete but is not suited to the NFL - somebody will pick him up for some specialty purpose then cut him loose and nobody is going to pick him up.

Shaq Mason too. And has had a very good NFL career if that's the metric being used.
Harrison Butker too.

I literally cannot BELIEVE all you fuggers dissing Bay-Bay like this. It's . . .

1) Calvin
2) Bay-Bay

3) Justin, Shaq, Buttkicker, and everyone else. Including that overrated ööööer, Gibbs.
