GT Fan Experience Enhancements

I once went to 20 consecutive away games.

And nobody cares what happens at other stadiums.

That's awesome, I wish I could still go to as many away games as I used to. Really cool to see different stadiums and the GT travel fan crowd is great.

But, if not comparable college football programs, what is the GTAA up against here? The loudest complaining fan's ideal concession scenario? There's no reason for the GTAA to chase that shadow.

at the end of the day, you guys are whining over 6 saturday afternoons out of the entire year. literally. so you may end up spending an extra $100 on stuff you otherwise wouldn't, over the course of the entire year.
if you start saving $2 per week now, or about 30 cents per day, then you can afford your two bottle of water and sandwich every saturday home game. throw that money in an ally online saving account and pull 1.45% on it and you can choose a saturday to go nuts and get a large cup instead of the medium.

Guys if it doesn't bother you fine! Good for you. I just stated how I felt. I'm that kind of guy. Right or wrong that is me.
Several years ago I took my son to the All Star baseball game in Atlanta. We went several hours early so that he might have a chance to get an autograph. He was 8 years old. He stood at that fence for over 3 hours and not a single player from either the National league or the American League ever came over to sign one thing for any kid or fan. Not one! I was there so I experienced it with my own eyes. At that point I made up my mind that I would never spend another dollar on MLB because I was not going to support those rich millionaires. Since that time I have not watched one second of Baseball nor attended another game. I will never go back. Now to some of you, you might find me "Childish or ridiculous" but to me its just a matter of principle. I love going to games but it's not my life. I can live without GT football on Saturdays. I will still probably watch them on TV but won't give them my money any more. If they don't care that is fine. I don't see a long line of fans that want to take my place. In fact at many games the other team has more fans than we do.
By the way its 4:19 and no one from GT has called me back as promised. I don't call that customer service. I own my own business and If I did that to my customers they would be pissed and so am I!

I couldn’t give two shits about the outside food policy. I think it’s dumb because the concessions are ööööing awful, but whatever. Let’s force everyone to use already overcrowded concession stands! No way that makes things worse.

It’s the bag policy changes that are the real issues.

Just got a call from GT. Instead of someone calling me higher up the food chain they passed me down to the guy who handles my season ticket account. He admitted that he could not do anything but was just told to call me. He was very very nice and I appreciate that. He carefully listened to what I had to say and I also told him about the boards here. He said that he was not aware of anyone at GT reading them so I read a few of the comments of my fellow posters. He said he would pass along our concerns.
He also told me that the reason for the change was for safety and getting people into the game faster. I just laughed and explained to him that allowing the bags would still have to be looked into and whether it was a bottle of water or a blanket jacket shirt or what ever it would still have to be checked so it would not make it any faster. He actually agreed with me and said yea I guess that does not make any scene for safety. I told him a bottle of water and a sandwich would not offer much of a threat. We also talked about the bottle they are giving us and we both laughed because he agreed that standing in a line to fill the bottle with hundreds of others did not sound very appealing. I then told him that if the policy was not changed I would not renew and he said he would pass that along. We shall see if anything else happens. I wonder here if anyone else has contacted GT to express your opinion.

Anyone who thinks that not renewing season tickets is a "that'll show 'em" response to this is just being ridiculous. If you don't want to renew your tickets, fine. But it is the same group of people whining and complaining about every little thing, yourself included for your rant on the Admissions Office Instagram post.

Maybe I'm unique in that I don't let little öööö like this bother me like you do? Who knows. If it improves getting through security I'm all for it. And I don't come to games carrying a bunch of food. I eat before, or make plans to eat after. Eating concessions food just isn't that big of deal to me.

My life does not revolve around GT I can live a very happy life and never watch another GT game. On the other hand I speak with my pocket book and at the end of the day that is the only thing that matters in business. You see I own my own business and customer service if #1 Its a lot easier to keep a customer than to piss one off and try to get them back. Simple business 101. As for me, I'm not trying to say if you don't do this I won't renew. With me it's if you do this, I no longer want to give you my money. Money that I work hard for and that I can spend some place else with someone other organization or event that will appreciate my money!

The issue is not simply losing the ability to bring in food and drink. Our concessions are literally run by volunteers with zero experience. Our concessions experience is abysmal. They need to fix concessions BEFORE forcing their best patrons to use the service. Guarantee the first game will be a cluster in the concessions. Also doubt discount will be applied to anything but s**ty concessions, no discount on BBQ, Chick-fila, etc.

Concessions is what all you whiny people should be boycotting, it sounds like to me.

If your enjoyment of attending GT football games is dependent on it being a well run business, then I'm surprised you have stuck around as long as you have. It is GT football. Love it or leave it.
