If you’re suggesting I was offended by anything Butker or anyone here has said you aren’t good at reading. Read the words that I wrote in context of what others on this site have said about it, in other threads and this one, take your head out of your ass, and it may make sense. Safest thing is to just not worry about it. The linear groupthink can’t be broken, and you are right about everything Bravo!
You can't pick up on sarcasm but I'm the one who isn't good at reading?

I don’t agree with all of Butker’s positions but I admire his commitment to his conservative and traditional Catholic faith. His expression of his Christian faith and his commitment to the Catholic Church differs from my perspective and affiliation. But, I read the speech in its entirety and it was completely appropriate to be given to Benedictine College graduates at the invitation of its leaders. There should be no action taken by anyone against his message. Freedom of religion protects his right to deliver this type of message. I respect his and all others’ right to express themselves freely. However, we have to respect the rights of others to react in their own freedom to our free speech. The key is for government to protect our speech so that disagreement does not spill over into discrimination, especially in our workplace.

They’re trying to spread a rumor that he hooked up with a male cheerleader while at Tech. No I don’t believe people have the freedom to respond how ever they choose.
How would that have anything to do with the validity of his address?

Just pointing out the hypocrisy here. YOU are stating what his words implied, when he said what he said. But you and the rest of the culture warrrior snowflakes on this site are saying “the media” trying to make it sound like he said something he didn’t say. No dog in this fight other than I love pointing out how retarded and hypocritical both sides are on every topic. To be clear, you’re alll snowflake pussies.
this thread is clearly a bait job by the gang leader of the flakiest of snowflakes, and I don’t really care. Pussies gonna puss. Go Braves.
You can go öööö yourself, CS

He is getting grief for it that he should not be getting. If you are too God Damned stupid to understand that, you should quit posting, You are an embarrassment to the school.

I have read Dirty Jacket’s posts and I cannot criticize them. The reason I cannot criticize them is that I have zero idea what he is talking about.

Actually, you can öööö yourself. I’m definitely not an embarrassment to Tech. I’m one of their 1 in 8 numerators before age 40. Butker is a smart guy. He was intentional with everything he said and he knew he would catch hell for it from half the country. That was his choice. Now he’s a hero for half the country and a villain for the rest. But he definitely said what he said, and there is no twisting of his words. His speech didn’t and doesn’t bother me. I am pointing out the vile hypocrisy and double standards on StingTalk surrounding it. I’m not ambiguous on the matter - the loony, especially “religious” right and the loony virtue signaling retard left are one and the same to me, ööööing idiots.

It’s confusing when someone doesn’t just pick a side and blindly follow that hard line, I know. It’s weird to have opinions on topics independent of other unrelated topics. Weird.

This is the part of his address that resonated with me.

"To the gentleman here today, part of what plagues our society is this lie that has been told to you that men are not necessary in the home or in our communities. As men, we set the tone of the culture. And when that is absent disorder, dysfunction and chaos set in this absence of men in the home is what plays a large role in the violence we see all around the nation. Other countries do not have nearly the same absentee father rates as we find here in the US. And a correlation can be made in their drastically lower violence rates as well. Be unapologetic in your masculinity. Fight against the cultural emasculation of men."

I was raised by a single mother after my scumbag father left before I was six months old. He never made a child support payment and never made an attempt to contact me. Men who abandon their children are despicable,

Certainly nothing wrong or even controversial with those statements.

I am a long in the tooth Yellow Jacket fan since, 1958, so what I say may irritate some of you.

How is it wrong for a young Christian to openly express his beliefs and what his values are? Harrison Butker is a devout Christian who also happens to be a Helluva' Engineer from a school I dearly love and have always pulled for.
But on the other hand the recent protesters on the various college campuses are allowed to burn the American flag, destroy private property, condemn the Jewish people, and write derogatory symbols against America and the Jewish people.
Where's the outrage over their actions, in some circles they are treated as heroes and they are expressing their 1st Amendment Rights, isn't Harrison Butler allowed to express his 1st Amendments Rights too?
I often think that the Greatest Generation that not only saved our country but also saved the world with the sacrifices they made, must be turning over in their graves on what has happened and is happing to this once great country that they fought for...............................................IT IS INDEED A SAD TIME IN OUR COUNTRY!!!
THWG!!

The majority of Americans, politically left or right, do disapprove of extreme, uncivil actions of many campus protesters. Both the president and the former president have spoken out against them, for example. I'm with you about Butker's freedom of expression, but saying "how can people be outraged about Butker when they weren't about protesters" is rhetoric that doesn't match up with reality. People have been big outraged about the excesses in campus protests, like antisemitic chants.
