Haynes King starter?

@GTQBdad hope ur son wins the job regardless this will bring the best out in him regardless
Thanks man. He is having a blast and smiling. That’s all we can ask for. He won’t just lay down and hand anything to anyone. He will keep working and improving, he’s a firm believer in iron sharpens iron. But I’ll just say this, he’s had a very good spring and absolutely loves Buster. He’s picked up his offense really fast.

Is this serious or satire? The dude effing cracked his collarbone playing his guts out. I’ll take a dude like that any day over the pansy we had before— he and all of his four stars can gtfo.

Sometimes it's better to just run out of bounds, rather than fight for the extra yard. I'd rather have him available to play than sidelined with a broken bone.

I love the new offense. So much more effective and fun to watch than the last 4 years.

He broke it in the middle of the field, so it’s tough to run out of bounds. He saw 8 more yards and wanted to get all he could. It was a fluke hit, actually him and the Cane who made the tackle both missed the rest of the season from what I was told.

Also, what a lot of people don’t know is his 3rd snap ever of his college career against FSU when he was sacked almost immediately from behind, he landed on his right shoulder. He ended up with a severe AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder. Same injury that caused Bryce Young to miss a couple of games. Couldn’t really run out of bounds there either. Yeah, he’ll learn to run smarter for sure, but he’ll never puss out and lay down. And that’s what this team is striving to be mentally. I can assure you of that.

I do believe on some site both Pyron and King had four stars as well.

This is a good problem to have. Both QB's are capable of putting GT in position to win. Injuries are part of the game and it's reassuring to know there would not be any drop-off with whoever is behind center.

On the radio broadcast, analyst and Tech legend Joe Hamilton ventured his assessment that King was the “leader in the clubhouse” as the team closes the spring.

Key was a bit more guarded than his former teammate. Asked for his assessment of the quarterbacks, Key joked that it was hard to tell because they were all wearing the same color jersey – all were wearing green non-contact jerseys – then gushed about walk-on Brody Rhodes, who did complete a 64-yard touchdown pass to receiver Avery Boyd for Team Swarm. (Boyd had two catches, both for touchdowns, for 66 yards.)

“To see Brody go in there, throw the deep ball, pull the zone read a few times, take off running, he’s made a lot of progress this spring,” Key said. “Love Brody.”

I think it says a lot about the prior HC that we only looked to have one fully prepared QB for last season. It turned out that QB absolutely quit his teammates.

I don't think any of the QBs who played yesterday looked particularly bad. Even the one from Rabun Gap is just green.

I have no actual experience parenting but to me it sounds like he has good ones. Believe me all kids don't have that sort of healthy outlook.

I met him at the autograph session after the game yesterday, kudos to you for raising such a great young man!

Despite my posting this thread, I hope your son gets the job. Just posting based on the last series being given to King. Zach obviously has the most heart I’ve seen out of a player since I don’t know when. He’s a gamer, a battler and a winner. Kudos for raising such a strong young man.

Pyron is the clear starter based on his body at work at GT. Key and Pyron are cuffed to each other. Key was the Pyron of a coaching hire. Until Pyron gives him a reason to pull him he’s the leader of the team. And King will be used and will be ready when needed. This is what we’ve needed for decades - a system that is coached properly and that players want to play in. This won’t be the last time we have multiple competent QB’s. The page has now been successfully turned from the Johnson years. I loved the option and I’m going to love this offense with a trained QB running it.
