How good is FSU, really?

FSU's OL was huge, every single one. Their DL had 300+ lb defensive linemen 3 deep. We just played harder and got a few plays our way finally.

FSU is certainly better than Duke, UNC or Pitt, so there's that. ND is a little bit better and Clemson is much better.

FSU's big issue is their young OL, with four false start penalties and an illegal formation penalty. I hardly thought our DL vs their OL would be the big mismatch, but Gotsis rushed FSU's QB a lot and kept them to many screen and outlet passes.

But their defense is very solid still and Dalvin Cook could be the best back in the nation.

I stopped taking you seriously after I noticed that you make one game a year and you won't even show up at the tailgate. So I don't really care about your opinion at this point.

Actually I try to make two home games a year. I'll be at the Georgia game too barring something unexpected. No plans to go to the StingTalk tailgate though, sorry :(.

Your loss, big man!

Where?

You usually back up your opinions with a lot of facts. What do you have in your back pocket that says a team we beat is better than 3 teams we did not beat? Penalties? Sure, FSU had them, and so did we. It was about even on penalty yardage I believe. And JT took us out of FG range with a terrible play so that negates their loss of a FG due to the INT.

I just haven't been to the tailgate because I just get so busy on gameday. Gametime sneaks up on a fella.

Please. You just think you is too cool for the rest of us with your Chattanooga hipster lifestyle.

Well, here's the FPI rankings of those four teams:

FSU - 17
UNC - 24
Duke - 36
Pitt - 41

The fact we beat FSU but lost to those three teams doesn't say definitely that FSU is worse than the other three teams. There are tons of instances of the transitive rule failing, because of the variance between games.

Yes, especially when it's also one of the few times a year you get to see all the old college buddies you used to hang out with because you live out of town.

People said the same thing about them last year, but they ended up going 13-0 and making the playoff. Sometimes it's just about winning, which they had done 28 times in a row in the ACC. Lots of good teams (including us, 2 years straight) have had a shot at them for almost 4 years now, and nobody has beaten them but us.

That is an accomplishment, I don't care what anybody says. Moreover, we beat a top 10 team with our DEFENSE. They didn't turn the ball over 1000 times. They didn't drop passes, they didn't miss open receivers, they didn't trip and fall in the open field. We stuffed them over and over and over again, including what is probably the 2nd best RB in the country. Let that sink in for a minute.

You omitted we spotted them 10 points.

Watch Clemson run the table in ACC play and lose to South Caroline.

If South Carolina beat both the Atlantic and Coastal champions, while going like 1-7 in SEC play, I would quit college football.
