How in the world can we not have a sell-out Thursday?

When was the last time we sold out a Thursday night game?

My guess would be 2001 when we sat 43,000

They could release some more to students since they are going to bunch up and leave edges empty anyway...

Because a lot of fans live in the metro, work Friday morning, and are well off so they own big 1080p LED HDTVs and don't want to pay $50 a ticket to sit way up in the corners and end zone.

Give me some tickets along the sidelines between the 20's and I will be there.

I am sad to say this, but if you can't sell out for this game, you have either built your stadium too big or you have built your stadium poorly.

A 48,000 seat BDS would create high enough demand to sell out with season tickets. At 52,000 it would be close. We simply don't have enough people who enjoy Tech football enough to fill a 56,000 seat stadium - so it is only filled when opponents fill it.

If we were going to build to that size we should have closed Techwood Avenue and redone the East stands. We simply have too many high end zone seats for a stadium our size.

"Working from home" on Friday means I hope nothing goes wrong at work b/c I won't be available until noonish.

Night games are a little more intimidating - to try and get back to your car alive

That's fuckin weak dude.

The upper north is better than any TV, and if you wanna talk about being well off then you can afford a ticket between the 20s.

I live in the metro, work a full-time job, own a big HDTV, and want to pay $50 to see my team play in an awesome atmosphere.

I assume you'll want a hot enema too. Show up to the game you wus. Be glad you don't have to fly into town.

I don't agree with this:

Why in the world did we put all of those seats up there in the upper reaches of the clouds in the North End Zone??? It would have made much more sense to completely rebuild the East Stands, putting those seats there. I don't think our stadium is too big. I DO think it is poorly designed, though. And whatever excuse they used to do it the way they did is just talk...

Cheapest ones on there are still almost $50.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to pay over $100 when I'd get there a couple minutes before kickoff and have to leave immediately after due to that whole two hour drive thing.

Do you not own a helicopter? It's like a 10 minute flight for me.

City of Atlanta won't let us close Techwood to expand the East Stands. (Something about that public street being a fire truck route.)

The corners of the Upper East haven't been full anyway (until Clemson came to town).

It isn't just talk. GT could do nothing w/the West stands due to having to bring the structure up to code. The city of Atlanta would not allow the expansion of the East stands towards a city street. So, for expansion, you were left w/the south and north sections.

Another great thing: I've met a bunch of students that didn't get single game tickets because they were claimed so quickly. Optimistically, 75% of the claimed tickets will be used, and those that would have gone will be left out.

Beat me by 2 minutes. ;)
