How in the world can we not have a sell-out Thursday?

Dont think many VPI fans want to come and see what should be a slaughter.

They could release some more to students since they are going to bunch up and leave edges empty anyway...

This. I know a LOT of students who weren't able to get a ticket. They were gone by Monday. If we don't sell out, there's no reason not to give the leftover tickets to students.

Because a lot of fans live in the metro, work Friday morning, and are well off so they own big 1080p LED HDTVs and don't want to pay $50 a ticket to sit way up in the corners and end zone.

Give me some tickets along the sidelines between the 20's and I will be there.

Lame. If you are that "well off", buy season tickets. I own 4 big 1080p TVs, live 4 hours away, and am on call all weekend. I am still making the game. Especially since I conned the FP resident to drive back from the game for a free ticket. :)

Whatever. I just hope it's loud and exciting. I have to make up for missing Clemson.

Another great thing: I've met a bunch of students that didn't get single game tickets because they were claimed so quickly. Pessimistically to a ridiculous degree , 75% of the claimed tickets will be used, and those that would have gone will be left out.

I'll be there. I don't give a shit if the rest of you show up or not.

I don't understand why some find it mind boggling.

It has nothing to do with Th night games, a chance to win any part of the ACC, Friday work, start time, temperature, white/black/gold/blue out or anything of that nature.

If the concern is selling out our games, then we must beat ugag more. It is simple.

What is mind boggling is how so many smart people can not grasp the concept.

Now, I can't wait to get there a scream my guts out.

What's our record attendance on a Thursday? Probably around 50k, right?

Here's an idea, lets change the thread title to "AWESOME JOB, RECORD THURSDAY NIGHT ATTENDANCE."

^We are GT, pessimism is the name of the game. Duh.

It'll be mostly full, student sections will have some gaps on the ends, frats will show up late, upper decks will have a little space. Should look damn good on ESPN though, and it'll be rockin.

Night games are a little more intimidating - to try and get back to your car alive
funhy....I think you are kidding because there is nothing to worry about with that at all...and i have always had my young kids with me late at night in cities other than ATL like NYC, Chicago, San Fran, and Miami. You just have to be smart and aware.

It's in the shop and my insurance doesn't cover a rental.

2 hours is not a bad drive at all...plus...you do not want to get there too early Thursday as the cold front is moving in and will be in high 30's and windy by kickoff. It will be a perfect in and out type of game.

They can release more to students, yes, but they will have to ticket them for other sections. The fire marshal responsible for Tech is a total jerk, so he won't let them designate for more people to sit in a section than it's supposed to handle. He won't have them counting heads or anything, but to release additional seats to students will require reducing the number of seats they can sell.

2009 -- Clemson --52k
2008 -- Miami -- 49.3k
2007 -- VT -- 49.3k
2006 -- UVA -- 51k
2005 -- NCSU -- 51.4k

you know what is surpising after looking at that again...how good the Thursday night attendance was in 2005 and 2006 against mediocre ACC opponents in UVA and NCState.
