How in the world can we not have a sell-out Thursday?

2 hours is not a bad drive at all...plus...you do not want to get there too early Thursday as the cold front is moving in and will be in high 30's and windy by kickoff. It will be a perfect in and out type of game.

....much truth...I feel ya

At least I'm in DC for the time being, so it is a short flight and I get back for 5-6 games a year (plus the easy road games up here UVA-MD-UNC) But once I move back to the promised land (Alaska), I'll probably only make 2 games a year.

Another great thing: I've met a bunch of students that didn't get single game tickets because they were claimed so quickly. Optimistically, 75% of the claimed tickets will be used, and those that would have gone will be left out.

Maybe the students should use the tickets they were allocated. Until they start using their allocated tickets, I'm not in favor of giving them more tickets.

They used them for Clemson game but edges are going to remain empty because they bunch up together.

Not pessimistic at all. I think it was the UNC game that 9000 student tickets were released, and 6000 were used. Don't remember where I saw those numbers. Probably from one of the boards. That's why I say 75% could be optimistic.

For a game that's going to end at the earliest at 11pm (and the way they bungle postgame traffic, you might get to the interstate by midnight), a 2 hour drive isn't doable if you have to work or go to school the next day.

I don't know about you, but I'm leaving early if it's a 3-score margin (either way) in the 4th quarter.

I'm pretty sure he lives in Florida or something like that. I live in Savannah and I'll be there, thats a 3.5 hr drive. It's ok, I'll use a vacation day and watch the game from the wonderful view of my lower level season ticket seats. Have fun in the chat complaining about how bad the white out and empty sections look!

Live 650 miles away and couldn't stay away. I probably have extras by the way. I'm sure if you came to campus you could find plenty for cheap.

2009 -- Clemson --52k
2008 -- Miami -- 49.3k
2007 -- VT -- 49.3k
2006 -- UVA -- 51k
2005 -- NCSU -- 51.4k

So the record was set vs Clemson, no surprise there, and in a year coming off the ACCCG we didn't crack 50k vs VT.

Sounds like an improvement. I reserve further comment until the numbers are in.

Driving 430 miles tomorrow morning. But, the number of fans commited to watching Tech football simply isn't large enough to fill the stadium right now. No other excuses. This is a ranked team, playing a ranked team, with the winner having a great chance to play for the conference championship and a BCS bowl. Our fan base is a loyal group that can fill a 45-48K seat stadium. To do more than that we have to grow the fan base.

hmmmm... work day, not on weekend... those are the two big reasons, then you can throw in all of the other excuses.

But win=ning year in and year our will resolve those "other" issues.
