Hyped for the season

There’s no excitement for our season on here?

I’m assuming I’m misinterpreting some comments above. Certainly no GT fans are rooting for the despicable bastards from the Cesspool of the South?

Not the Cesspool, the Claypool

Dude, this is excitement for this board. Oh here are masochists. They enjoy the pain. Why else would we root for Tech?
Almost every GT fan is a masochist, but damn there are some bright spots and a few silver linings among all the dark clouds. We got the best RB corps, our recruitment via the transfer portal was good, Sims has a year under his belt, and hopefully 2 seasons coaching has improved our in-game management and decision-making.

We have to be better this season. It’s virtually impossible to imagine we’re going to be worse. The only possible exception is punting, but we should be doing less of that.

I'm hyped as hell to watch Gibbs again. Blackburn's injury sucks, he's our next Calvin clone, but he's not alone out there. Just a little help from the OL and we will be dangerous to everyone on our schedule. We still have a lot of youth there, but at least it's BIG.

Sky's the limit if the ball bounces right.

We'll definitely be better but it may not show up in the W/L column given our schedule...

I just looked at the kickoff schedule. Uga vs Clemson should be a fun one. Kinda rooting for a meteor there but I suppose if I had to pick it'd be Clemson.

You can watch games without rooting for anyone- I'd like to see uga lose, but I sure as hell won't be rooting for Clempsum

Don't forget linebacker issues should be solved :)

Pretty good look.

how could you watch this and not realize even marginal improvement on our OL is going to be a big deal? Gibbs has to beat three guys to get to the LOS.

Imagine an offense where Sims isn’t running for his life on pass plays and Gibbs/Mason/Smith aren’t having to juke guys 3 yards deep in the backfield.

if we have mediocre OL play we are going to see a big jump. If it is good - look out.

I'm torn on this season. Definitely not "hyped." The increasing professionalism of college football is near crossing a threshold for me, if it hasn't already done so. I know that it has had this element for decades, but IMO it has seriously increased to another level with the NIL payments, and transfer portals, and SEC gargantuanism. I'm having a harder and harder time connecting "college" football players to the universities they supposedly represent. It's like . . . "The Yellow Jackets, brought to you by the Georgia Institute of Technology." A sponsored product as opposed to anything organic to the school itself.

I'll probably still watch, out of habit and the fact that I'm old and set into it. But if I was 20 YO and in college now . . . not sure I would give a crap.

Yeah, I don't like it either, but we are close to playing, so I'm getting more excited. It'll be nice to have the mind away from all the other crap in the world for several hours on Saturdays this fall.

I think we're a year or two off for line development and from really making waves, but I'm hyped as hell to watch some football and see the progress on the team.
