For close to 50 years now. I can still remember my first game. My family was living in Chamblee and I listened to GT play in the Peach Bowl in the old Fulton County Stadium in 1971 against Ole Miss if I remember correctly. Ever since that night I was hooked on the Gold and White. Over the years I have seen the worst and the best of GT football. I’ve had a sibling play on The Flats. I suffered as we all did through the BL and GC years, but I’ve also experienced the highs as well.

I don’t believe in all this time I have seen as much inconsistency in GT football as I have seen over the past few years, exclude clown years. We win games we have no business winning and we lose games that just make me scratch my head until it bleeds. We knock off top 20 teams and we lose to FCS and lower D1 teams. We have looked like a top ranked team and we have looked just flat out piss poor.

I can recall the days when top teams DREADED coming to Historic Grant Field to play. (To Hell with Hyundai) They knew there was a chance they were going to get their a$$e$ handed to them. And a lot of times we beat their ass and sent them home with an L. I can remember when we played the toughest SEC schedule when in the same year we played Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and Ugay in the same damn year. Now we are playing in what might be, at best, the fourth best conference in the country.

I wish I had an answer. I will always cheer for GT no matter how bad it gets, but it has been darn tough the last few years.

With all that said, I would not be one bit surprised if we knock off North Carolina next week. I don’t think it will happen, but I won’t be shocked either.

Lots of $. How many so called fans on this board don’t buy tickets? At least the ones far away should at least donate.

Also, the GTAA not being the worst run athletic dept in Div 1 would help.
It’s wild ho the ones bitching the most on here arent at the game. Idk :dunno:

Is that wild? Longtime season ticket holders getting so frustrated they can't stand going to games in person anymore are probably more likely to be more upset than those who still had enough faith that they were willing to attend in person. We all post on a GT message board, we clearly all care too much for our own good.

I'm physically ill over the results of today's game. This will ruin my whole weekend and likely most of next week. I'm going to try my best to not watch next week's game.

Damn. Nebraska sold out their stadium after 3-3 win seasons. Our fans quit. No wonder there’s no money. Team attitude matches the fans.

lol it’s not the fans fault. Duke is good. They have no fans. It’s the coaching. It sucks or at the very least it DID suck for the last 3 years.

Cant say whether I agree or disagree. Throwing money at a problem is not always the answer in my opinion. I’m not saying it would or would not help. I’ve seen instances of both. Look at Colorado this year, tons of cash thrown in along with a sold out stadium and they are still a .500 club and have not beaten a consistent winner.

THIS. You are correct Bainbridge. I try to not emotionally invest, but I always come right back and watch whether in person or on tv. As for next Saturday, if the proverbial creek doesn’t rise, I’ll be in the stadium.

Nebraska has sold out that stadium FOREVER, so I’m not sure that’s a good comparison. As far as matching attitudes, I’m not so sure, but that’s just my opinion.

I’ve been a big sports fan for most of my life, but I lost interest in the NBA in the late ‘90’s. College basketball when ‘one-and-done’ became the norm (and being honest, Tech being a lower-tier team hasn’t helped), I haven’t watched an NFL game post ‘28-3.’

I still have Tech football, MLB (although I haven’t watched the NLCS or ALCS because I’m so disgusted with the Braves falling to the Phillies again), and the PGA (Hovland is my favorite on the tour).

As much as I tell myself sports aren’t important, a Tech win still brightens the week and a Tech loss still puts me in a bad mood. I guess I’m glad that I still have that passion for Tech football and going to games, but as most of us can concur, these last 4-5 years have been hell.

Physically ill? You’ve been telling us all week we were going to lose. And you were right. How does that make you sick?

Anyone that gets “physically ill” from watching kids play a game needs to step back and take a hard look at themselves.

Quick—name a winning program that doesn’t have money behind it? Obviously, you have to spend/invest that well, which the GTAA has trouble doing.

Colorado was dog doo the last several seasons. Your favorite coach of all time isn’t turning that around after one season. Given the $ invest and the aggressive use of the portal, I’d expect Colorado to much better over the next couple of seasons. What will be interesting to see if whenever the Deion circus leaves town, what happens next. However, Colorado will be in a significantly better financial position to hire the next coach.

I'm older so I have you beat in torture years. The hardest thing I have a problem getting my brain around is how terribly soft we are on defense. We have coaches that I know had to be tough as hell to play at the collegiate level, yet they can't seem to get that kind of tenacity passed on to our players, especially on the D side. As a side note, when King is struggling throwing the ball like he did today, why not put Pyron in to maybe change the dynamics? Also, why isn't Dontae Smith getting more carries and where was Singleton yesterday?

Giving more money to the GTAA with their history is akin to giving more to the fed on April 15th. GTAA has shown absolutely no ability to utilize the money I give them wisely. Why the öööö would I give them more of my hard earned money to just waste? People keep referencing how half of the GT alums are millionaires. Y’all know why? Because most millionaires know not to throw good money after bad. I get the emotions of it, but it’s still an investment. And I haven’t see a positive return on my investment in over 10 years. I’m not giving more until the GTAA and the administration show me they give a öööö about the product and the donor. The only time I get anything at all from Tech is when they call to ask for even more money. It pisses me off to the point I’ve considered stopping.

George O'Leary went 0-3 as an interim HC and went 6-5 and 5-6 in his first 2 full years. Did not make a bowl until his 3rd year when we went 6-5 in the regular season. O'Leary went on to have one of the best post-Dodd HC tenures that launched a 20+ year bowl streak.

I was certainly hoping for a better season than we have seen so far, but the year is not over and it takes time to turn things around. We've done it before and will do it again.

Couldn’t be said any better.
