I’ve been following GT football

Schools that are competitive at sports and have good engineering programs seem to usually have engineering programs siloed off as a "competitive major" inside a larger school with a less competitive broader curriculum. Having narrow curriculum has always been a challenge. The new problem is that college sports is now explicitly all about money and that is predominantly driven by the number of fans. If you are GT with ~150-170K living alumni, how do compete with UGA with 350-370K living alumni or a Big 10 school with 500-700K living alumni?

I do not see any scenario where GT is going to dumb down its core major offerings to become a larger school in order to be better at sports. If there were a way to merge with another school that would bring a broader, major offering and significant student / alumni base and it could be done in a way that would maintain the prestige of the "competitive majors" then who knows maybe?
There is one that we all know.

You do your argument a disservice by lumping two Head Coaches together as it makes your bias show
Clown Collins hired Brent Key as ASST HC. GT Boosters overruled AD J Batt and went all in on B. Key. I like J batt and I like the move away from Boosters and to corporate dollars. I also think Willie Fritz or Jamey Chadwell could win 6 or 7 games on the Flats something Clown nor B. Key has done yet.
